I think the problem with our special teams is a self destructive issue. Kickoff team only practices tackling Cottrell who has never heard of cutting, so its easy to tackle him for normal stops. Cottrell practices against our kickoff team, so he looks like a reasonable returner in practice. Brad stewart almost never fields a punt, so the punt team doesn't practice sprinting downfield and tackling.

VT has a 90% touchback rate on kickoffs. Best in country. Our ST is so bad they are intentionally keeping it in play.
