Official Gameday Thread: GT vs. Clemson

I don’t recall the midline or anything else option based being effective against Clemson in the last few years. IIWII or something.
Well I mean, it’s hard to be good against them when Clemson hasn’t really played a team that’s run midline or TO since CPJ except for citadel.

I don't mind a power run on 4th and 1 there. Guys gotta know what they are up against to get better, and you don't just give up the inside game without at least trying it. You never know until you do.

Plus, that stuff has done some good work for us late in games. We do have the guys to do it, even if Clemson has the guys to stop it.

I was talking about CPJs last few years. Clemson was pushing his stuff in at the end. The Jimmies and Joes were crushing the Xs and Os.

I'm sick of seeing David Curry help the ball carrier and OL up. Does he not realize he needs to save his energy for when he has to chase his man and ball down the field continually?
He does it almost every time, even when there are other yellow jackets on the ground seems like.

Why not make 4th and 1, 4th and 6?
It’s not even so much the shotgun formation on that play that was frustrating. It was the slow developing power run design against that front 7. Wasn’t ever going to work. If you’re going to pound it straight up the gut, at least get a formation that puts your guys in the right position to get those yards.

I wouldn’t say “pushing his stuff,” but they were beating us. It was more Trevor lawerence going off against us
