It's the type of catch you have to make when you're playing a third string quarterback against the #4 team in the nation.

It said a Miami loss helps the conference in what way?? ACC needs a team to get a bye week in the playoff and Miami is the best bet to get there. It sure won't be Clemson

Whether it br SMU, Clemson, Pitt, or Miami who wins the conference, they will get a bye... The only way it doesn't happen is if Boise St ends up a conference winner and top group of 5 and is seen as better than ACC champ. Miami would need to lose again to not make champ game. It's really not that complicated. In order to get a bye you must win your conference.
