Official Gasparilla Bowl/AI Masterpieces Thread

Just tried to buy tickets from GT through the ramblinwreck.com site. They have no tickets available. So, I went to the Gasparilla Bowl website and purchased them through Ticketmaster.

I went to purchase this week and the site was out of tickets. Guess they sold out already. You'd have thought GT would be ecstatic and it would be big news, but crickets.

Hopefully J Batt is distracted at the moment with efforts to get us off the sinking SS ACC.
 
I like how UCF sold their allotment out before we could even buy tickets, and now have sold out their additionally requested allotment while we have many fans unsure if we have sold out or can still buy from GTAA. If we have sold out, are we not requesting more as well?

I look forward to it being announced that GT only sold 2,300 tickets and UCF fans brought 50K + with many wearing different shades of gold.

Just got an email today from the GT ticket office explaining how they were allocating bowl tickets? What the heck?

Given that Wes was the announcer for UCF, this makes sense.

This is in reference to announcers during the Broncos’ playoff game mentioning that D.Thomas went to UCF after catching a TD pass from Tebow

They explained it a week or so ago when tickets were first released, I'm not sure why it was re-stated in today's email. I can't get into my ticket account today so they must be working on getting the tickets loaded.
 
Interesting thing I just noticed: UCF has been in the Gasparilla bowl 6 times in the last 15 years. They’ve been in 3 of the last 4 games that were played.

2023 - loss
2021 - win
2019 - win
2014 - loss
2012 - win
2009 - loss

Last year's game was weird. Last game for the clown and our offensive play calling was terrible. We lost by 17 but missed 2 FGs, gave up a punt return TD, and either turned it over on downs or fumbled 4 times inside the UCF 25 yard line that game. UCF didn't "kick our ass." They did us a favor though.
