Official Thursday Night Game Thread Episode 6: Hungry Like The Wolf (Pack)

Nope, yep, nope.

Yep, nope.

Miami vs. NC State might be fun, as an alternative to the almost certain Miami vs Clemson. Gonna be a weird year. We'll be Clemson's only ACC loss, Miami will be ours, and nobody is beating Miami in the regular season.
Yep, nope. We beat dau by 10.

Um no.

You straight up don't think we have a chance with Miami?
No. I called this when they announced the schedule, you can bigcry me or whatever, but Miami is the only game I am/have been certain we'll lose this year. It's actually really rare for me to feel that way about any game, but I'm convinced. I don't think it will be as bad now that it's on Saturday, but if it were still going to be played on Thursday, it would be ugly like 2009.

öööö mind not rite, cum str8 up, etc

Wait, what? Why are we afraid of Miami? Isn't this the team that has failed to win their division EVER during a span that Duke won the division and Wake Forest won the entire conference? Please don't tell me we should be afraid of Mark Richt. He has played CPJ 9 times, UGA had far superior talent on paper at least 8, and 7 were decided by one score. CMR doesn't have the talent he had at UGA, and this is one of the most talented teams CPJ has had overall. I see absolutely no reason that the Miami game is anything worse than a 50/50 for us.

I keep telling my Clemson friends that I could see GT upsetting Clemson this year, though. Since Clemson has ascended to the elite, they beat GT more often than not, but every few years they start to overlook GT and forget that CPJ has beaten Dabo FIVE TIMES. Normally they are prepared for GT, but right now absolutely nobody is talking about Gt as a threat to beat them. They're talking about NC State, FSU, and playoff. Normally their players are extremely well-prepared for GT, but if they're looking ahead then we can make them pay. We aren't gonna beat Clemson on the perimeter - at least not consistently. We actually had some success up the middle with Mills last year, but JT couldn't run the midline so we couldn't establish the inside run. I think Marshall/Benson is a better matchup for Clemson, and I honestly think GT will be as difficult a matchup for the Tigers as anyone on their schedule. Just my two cents.

Just in case my point about Miami got lost in the shuffle there...

öööö Miami. They're overrated and I ain't skeerd of em.

Wait, what? Why are we afraid of Miami?
Literally stopped reading right there. Nobody's ööööing scared of Miami. I don't like our chances to win this game. I go into every other game convinced we're going to win, no matter how obvious the incoming heartbreak is, but I have never felt good about this game and I still don't. Suck my typically optimistic and I'll let you know when it's okay to swallow.

Fine, I'll rephrase my question. Why do you not feel good about this game? Now you can read the rest of the post.

I'll give you some more, too. Miami has a pretty good RB, but our run defense has been STOUT this year. Like really good. Our ground game against their D > their ground game against our D. And Miami's QB isn't the type of guy that will tear you apart when they aren't running the ball - at least he hasn't ever showed it.

And I am sure our players will have it drilled into them that they HAVE to beat Miami. Beat Miami and we have a tiebreaker over Miami, Pitt, and UNC - although we don't need the final two so much. Although Pitt only has an ACC loss to us, they will lose another one, probably to NC State in a few weeks. We need for UNC to win out. Seriously. We need to all be pulling for UNC the rest of the season.

By week before us tho

By week before us tho
Tennessee had like 8 months to prepare for us and gave up over 500 rushing yards. Georgia had a glorified bye week before us during the majority of Richt's tenure and it never helped them stop us. Our offense has always done pretty much whatever it wanted against Richt-coached teams - it's the defense that has always let us down. Barring a fumble-fiasco like last year, I think we beat Miami this year. I'm MUCH more worried about Clemson.

Agree with your assessment of Georgia and Tennessee. But clemsons D is crazy. Vennebles or however you spell it has been killing us the last three years
