We don't suck, but we will certainly lose another game or two which we should've won but for self-inflicted wounds.

This was a tough cupcake, but still a cupcake. And the final score reflects that, even if it took us two halves to get there.

It's likely coincidence, but we also tend to have better seasons under CPJ when we don't completely blow out FCS competition.

2009(Jacksonville State): 37-17
2014(Wofford): 38-19
2016(Mercer): 35-10

Compared to:
2012(Presbyterian): 59-3
2013(Elon): 70-0
2015(Alcorn State): 69-9

Jacksonville State is way better than all those teams. They are an FCS Playoffs team

Yeah, but that doesn't change my suggested correlation between tighter "cupcake" games and better seasons.

Edit: My original comment wasn't intended to discount yours, I was more just using yours to build off of the optimism. Sorry if that came across wrong.
 
We struggled for a half in a classic let-down game scenario on a short week. The O-line will get chewed out all week, but our QB is a playmaking TD machine. I thought the defense did some good things. My expectations from preseason are unchanged.
 
It was a sleep-walk.A decent but not strong opponent.Got to get ready for next wk.Play dead to start like this and we are in trouble.
