Ohio RB offerd.

in that video he does not look like he's running at the pace of a 4.41 40.

i wasnt very impressed by him either. at least not as a RB. he's listed as a LB on the rivals site though. definitely wouldnt mind a LB with his speed coming in.

Never trust the speed of a RB with an offer from Wisconsin.

Also, apparently a verbal offer doesn't mean it is commitable, only that we have interest in the player and things need to shake out before he gets a written offer.

His NFL coaches find his Heisman hype unfounded and demand a refund.

Its a good thing they give the Heisman trophey to the best NFL prospect. Thats what college football is all about right? Finding the best NFL prospects?

Performance in the NFL should never be used as an argument for the merit of a college award.

I've been following the kid since July of last year (via Ohio State recruiting). Kid seems like he has a tenacity that is hard to find. I would personally love to see him at Tech because I think he would get great exposure. In my opinion he has the tools of becoming an AA caliber LB. If this 40 time is right though, he may be more than capable at B-Back too. It is clear in his film that he is good between the tackles (which is an element we could use).

Just a note though: he played running back and safety his Junior year. Oh and his baseball team won state too. Great offer.

That's a silly thing to say based solely on who has won the Heisman in the past.

From memory, Doug Flutie., Charlie Ward,Danny Wuerffel, Eric Crouch, Troy Smith, and Tim Tebow; what do they have in common? They won the heisman, and they weren't/aren't NFL worthy (atleast initially, Flutie eventually came around).

BeerNutts, I think he was being sarcastic with his reply due to the prior one about Ron Dayne.

guys....this guy ran a timed 4.41 by our GT coaches and a timed 4.03 short shuttle (equal to Roddy Jones who has the fastest GT ss time). Short shuttle measured foot quickness.
Our coaches also noted that if you adjusted it for his running on a slow grass field...adjusted for a track it would have been a 4.36 forty.
the dude is fast...the game video is simply running at normal speed (many of them these days are slightly accelerated)...and he does not waste any motion shaking and baking.
Paul Johnson is not going to offer someone who cannot get it done....he saw him himself. He is liked at A-back...and possibly even B-back.

This kid's good. Powerful burst and he outruns the DB's when he gets a seam. He's moving. Good lean, balance and squares up well. Carries 3-4 tacklers on occasion. Looks tired in a bit of the footage - seems to be dragging his feet then. I wonder how many times he's running the ball per game. I like the offer, FWIW.

He is only rated a 66 on ESPN...I guess Miami doesn't even know he exist... Sorry, I couldn't resist

Especially in June. Especially someone from out of state. Especially in a year when we have precious few schollys to give out.

After all the discussion and after the recruiting to date has surpassed all reasonable expectations, its a little surprising that our coaching staff has to fend off the idea that we are selling ourselves short by giving away scholarship offers the way UGa gives away diplomas because somebody read all of 3 sentences about the kid and thinks that we should be backing off instead.

I mean Jeebus effing Crikey.

Kid is a freaking beast.

He would be a great pickup. He is all buckeye if offered.
