Okay, I hate this...

A yellow jacket is a wasp... much tougher and scarier than a bumble bee

Not quite. There are two types of wasps, social wasps and solitary wasps. There are about 20 types of solitary wasps in the South, all of which are solitary hunters and have solitary nests. Most of which aren't a nuisance to human beings.

Yellow Jackets are social wasps and nest in groups. They also hunt together and attack in swarms. They are the main culprit in stinging attacks across the country. You don't ever see a single yellow jacket. You will always see Yellow Jackets. As there is never just one.

Food for thought. We are Yellow Jackets. Not Wasps.

Yes, we are wasps. Just like a square is still a rectangle.

You've overthought (new werd?) the problem. No soup for you.

Seriously, as far as Tech is concerned, we've always been associated with bees and wasps and all manner of flying/stinging insects, especially those indigenous to our experience here in the great State of Georgia. I'm surprised, quite frankly, that reference hasn't been made to the "No See'ums." :eek5:

Proof that at any time in any universe in all of existence - somewhere a Tech fan is finding something to complain about.

Anyone notice that a Yellow Jacket isn't white and gold? Where's the yellow and black?

Ok... still a wasp. Where was I wrong? All I said was that a yellow jacket is tougher and scarier than a bumble bee. Not that a yellow jacket is a lone wolf, LOL.

But thanks for the Entomology lesson

That just looks big because it's on the back hand of a Chinaman.
