Okay, so clearly the Big Boi halftime show was...

...better than our normal half time show.

Right?

Even the old farts I sat with agreed. One's comment: "Well he's sure got that dance team all riled up, doesn't he?"

I actually enjoyed it, even though I hated the music. I thought the whole thing was pretty well done.

I'm pretty sure if you were in the east stands or student section it sucked. We couldn't even hear the music for most of the first song because the speakers were out. Plus the dance team was in front of the west stands. The east stands got to look at the uncoordinated fat flag girls.

Ok --tell me this: I only caught a glimpse because I did bolt for a coke and a rail-perch overlooking Techwood. Did he have a band with him or was he performing a glorified karaoke by just singing (sic) along to taped music?

It was live singing with the band.

Thanks GTK --I knew HE was live --and good for him for not opting for the lip-synch route.

I actually thought it would be better. I have seen Outkast and it was better than last night. No one I could tell really got into it. The sound sucked. And, I was close to the field...hate to have been farther then you must not have been able to hear crap. (sighs) I was looking forward to dancing with the hotties too. Oh well, that's what the clubs are for I guess.

I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't know the band would play along with him. That was pretty cool. The dance team was awesome. Did you see the VTech cheerleaders and Hokey come over and watch. Clearly this is impressive to the young crowd. This could be a powerful recruiting tool if we hadn't sucked it up on the field so much. I wonder if they showed any of the halftime on ESPN? At least a 10 second snippet?

Just curious, were you in the west stands?

I wonder how much we paid him? The game still didn't sell out (at least it didn't look it), a waste of money if you ask me.

They should spend $40,000 on the sound system there. Since you kind of need it -- to pull of these types of things.

Say what you will, thats the most full halftime has been at BDS than I can ever remember.

I was sitting in the NW corner of the stadium (lower level) and I enjoyed it thoroughly. It went about as I expected. Not a lot of over the top cheering like you might have had with an all 18-30 crowd, but it still looked to me like almost everyone I could see was enjoying it. I was pleasantly surprised to have an Outkast song thrown in the mix (I don't know any of his songs since they split). Anyway, all in all I enjoyed it, and I wouldn't mind having something similar again. We can mix it up and have different genres in the future too.

I didn't say it was great. I agree the sound quality sucked. What I did say, however, was that it was LEAPS AND BOUNDS better than our ordinary half time show.

the first song sucked, but once they figured out the sound system and he sang more familiar songs, it was much better. They should've done more fan-cam shots to show uncoordinated white folks trying to dance.

The overall show wasn't great, but it's not like this was the superbowl or anything. I thought it was good for what it was.

Also, the West Stand fans looked like statues. He should've played to the East Stands.

They showed a decent clip of it on ESPN, while Flutie and Craig James tried to guess the name of Big Boi's pardner (neither had a clue). But it looked very good on TV, much better than I expected, I was impressed and that's coming from an old fart country music fan.
