From what I understand, one of them was there shortly after it started but couldn't help to defuse the situation. They don't actually sit with the recruits during the game though.

I was at a football game today and went the wrong way inside the stadium, ended up back near an entrance, and so I asked a black security person where to go. He told me I had to leave the stadium and go back in another entrance. I was like, well, if I do that they won't let me back in because my ticket's been scanned. I'll just go back the way I came, thanks. He wasn't having it, said I had to leave, so I started to walk away but another guy came over to me and said "Hey man, you've got to leave." So I just complied and left. Tried to go back in the other entrance and they wouldn't let me as expected, told me "you ööööed up". I then had to go to the ticket office and explain what happened to get let back in.

CSB, but point is bullshit like this happens to people all the time, it doesn't necessarily have to do with race--just people being dumb.

Probably best to have just left. A plane could have crashed into the stadium at any moment.

I believe it was stated earlier in the thread that there were many recruits from several sports at the game. How come all the other recruits and families managed to sit where they were supposed to and avoid any controversy?

I love how they described it as a "packed house". There was plenty of room in the student section, given that it was thanksgiving break.

I also love how people here swear that we "pulled our scholarship offer".

Another recruiting shortcoming. This + the Hill is all it would take drive some recruits that don't want to take Calculus to play at Big Box Factory of the South.

There were 95 recruits on hand. The handler got their real quick but the mom started cursing her out the second she got there.

So an officer isn't trained on athletic department policy and gets aggressive with an athletic department guest, eventually finds out that he is in the wrong and tries to make amends with the woman. The woman's son then gets mouthy. Officer requests ID, sons gets cute, physical altercation ensues, son doesn't realize his privileged status means nothing to APD.


The whole thing is just dumb. Apologize to the family, fix the procedures on athletic department guests, and move on. If he comes here then so be it.

I side with the Johnsons on this, not that my opinion matters one way or the other. We've all come out on the short end of the stick in similar situations.

It's sort of like a player that gets flagged by the ref when he retaliates against an opposing player who got away with something really bad that the ref ignored or failed to see. Net result: the good guys lose, the bad guys win, and the bad ref is still a bad ref that gets away with being bad.

The moral of this story: There ain't one.

After reading everything about this (going back to the Letter Winner's account) it seems like everyone involved understood their involvement and were ready to put it all behind them, shake hands, and go about the day and the brother gets all chippy.
