Old News: Andrew Gardner interviews with Falcons

My guess is he will not be drafted. He will be a rookie FA. If we are taking bets.

I'll take that bet! 2 time All-ACC, 6 6.5", 305. He's a perfect 5th round pick for a team who expects their OT to retire in one year.

I had that same surgery and it really does take 1+ year to come back from completely, but under the right circumstances, he'd be a good later round pick.

Isn't it better at some point to be a FA than a low round draft pick? If so, at what point what you rather just not be picked?

As a FA he can pick the best situation/team to maximize chances of making the squad.

You're right lonestar. I think the draft should stop the draft after the 3rd round and then let free agency begin.

I'm really hoping Gardner gets a tryout with the Falcons, if they don't draft him.

Dimitroff and Smith may want to draft Gardner purely based on what he brings from a human capital standpoint...

Gardner rehabilitation has gone well, and he was in good shape to participate in the combine, IIRC.

Does anyone know his results?

Thanks
