One of the greatest GT teams of all time

Piss off.

I'm optimistic that the QB/B-back combo looked every bit as good as Thomas/Mills.

D is still pedestrian--not one QB pressure all night.

Special teams are a significant downgrade from Butker.

Lastly, we lost to a middle of the road SEC team with one of the poor offensive units we'll see.

Maybe Marshall can be fun to watch this season in a series of shoot outs.

Per Scion... just breathe all will be ok

You're on drugs. Or you're retarded. Or both. Our defense is "pedestrian" because we didn't get sacks, which, in your mind, means they never once got any pressure. You're misinformed, you're ignorant, you're trolling, you're something, but you're definitely wrong.

The D is pedestrian. Pressure or a stop. They got neither with the game on the line. Poor tackling on the long TD catch and run and then gave up a 93 yard drive with the game on the line. What part of the D do you think is good?

Sacks are nice, but Cooter the QB for UT had a lot of time to make throws in 2nd half.

You know what? Nah. As tempting as it is, for once I'm not going to throw myself into an argument with someone so plainly deaf, dumb, blind and comatose. You're butthurt over the loss, I ööööing get it, but the team's performance isn't defined by however you felt during the final five minutes of a game. The defense got railroaded in overtime, they obviously gave up the scores at the end that allowed Tennessee to tie it, but for most of the game our defense was playing better than we've seen in a long while. You obviously somehow managed not to see it, which is a shame. It must be awful to be miserable by default during a game. Pass.

That "pedestrian" defense forced 6 punts tonight. We win this running away if we hadn't lost 2 very costly fumbles. OP has the right idea. This is a quality team, and laden with sophomores in key roles. JT5 changed his name to Taquon and came back to us. We have a lot to look forward to.

Sorry if I'm not overrating UT's offense. There are several teams on the schedule with better ones. If you don't understand that now, you will over the course of the season.

You have it. I trust CPJ to fix the dang kicking issues. Buckle your salty asses in and enjoy this season. We are going to wreck everyone in front of us.

I love your optimism and hope you are right. However, I think losing a game you should win like this in your opener deflates a team and often serves as a watershed moment. If we had not scored the last minute TD in the BC opener last year I imagine the season would have really suffered. I predict tonight's debacle will cast a long shadow over the rest of the season. I hope I'm wrong.

Somehow, in the offseason I always forget why I hate this ööööing board. But once we lose our first game, other users are very quick to remind me. Bunch of miserable bastards tbq

There's nothing remotely similar about those two games. Apples to potatoes.

How many 7 win seasons have we had where 6 stops a game would have turned it to 10 wins?

Defense did pretty well overall. Over the net of the game, it was pedestrian, but pedestrian D should win you a game when you get 650+ yards on offense. Lost this game kicking and fumbling.

And to #1 making ridiculous ass catches. He made 3 NFL caliber catches at key moments in this game on jump balls that could have gone either way or at least been knocked away. Just without those we win this thing going away.

Also, I haven't seen any mention here, but there was one of their scoring drives where they threw a pass out to the left flat that was absolutely 100% a pick route where their WR basically blocked/tackled our LB or safety whoever was up to cover the receiver coming out of the backfield. They had a huge gain on that play and it should've been flagged no doubt. I saw alot of OPI called this weekend and was hoping that was a sign that maybe this season the refs are going to crack down on it. PI is one thing when its legitimate but you hardly ever see OPI called when they do the same.

It's hard to know. UT could very well be garbage- their WRs couldn't catch herpes in a Singapore brothel in the first half. We sliced through their D, and were stronger and more physical up front. We'll see if that reflects on us or them as the season goes along.

So my sis asked me about if Tech won last night, I said no they lost in double OTs, but damn did they look good! I think this is gonna be a great season if players can stay healthy and we find a new kicker! It was hard to fall asleep last night after the game, so I pretended we won and then I fell asleep!

It's a small world after all, it's a small world after all.....

Everybody sing!

Let's just go back to earlier in the game when we were so excited to be kicking butt, and be in that moment, that was much better.

I like this game of judging the entire season on the first game. By this logic, Ohio State doesn't win a national championship after losing to VT and Texas is world beaters after winning against Notre Dame.

Just breathe

I was screaming about that pick and the folks in my section were looking at me like my head was on backwards.

This was the first game of the season. How many times have we struggled against a lesser opponent in opening games in all phases? The O showed mid-season form, for goodness sakes. The kicker is a walk-on replacing the injured starter. Even the D was pretty much in mid-season form.

We're way ahead of our typical season start.
