Only conference champs get byes in 12 team format

My point is that why would a Clemson, FSU etc. want to join a league that's difficult to win when it's much easier to get into a bye position in the ACC. I know SECheat money is much better but, hopefully it's not everything. A tough play in round also may expose the SEC hype a little. Especially if it's neutral refs.

I feel like the same question was asked about Texas/Oklahoma and USC/UCLA
 
Maybe no one cares, but the first time a 10-2 Georgia Tech is knocked out because an underdog won the Big Ten championship game, you'll care.
