Orange Bowl looking even crappier now...

I really hope Cincy loses. Even more BCS chaos and Cincy dropping in the rankings (moving us up).

The question is...who does VT play in Miami if Cincy does indeed lose?

Cincy will play in Orange Bowl no matter what happens in the hawaii game. They are the Big East Champions. The Hawaii game is OOC.
 
Cincy won the Big East, they are going to the Orange win or lose vs Hawaii

This game has no bearing on Cincinnati's Orange Bowl berth. They won the Big East so they're automatically in regardless of OOC record.
 
Ok, OP confused the crap out of me. I knew this game was OOC but for some reason the OP made me think the Big East champ didn't have an automatic Orange Bowl berth, and then wikipedia failed me by only listing the ACC as a conference tie-in. Bah, sleep time.

Maybe the two teams in the Orange Bowl won't even be top 20, bahahaha...

HAHA. I was trying to say that if Cincy loses to Hawai'i, it will make the Cincy/VT matchup even more pathetic than it already is.

Technically you're right, the Big East Champ doesn't automatically go to the Orange Bowl. But they do get an automatic BCS invite, and since Orange Bowl has the last at-large pick this year, they will be left to them.

On another note, Hawai'i is a really dirty team this year...They must have received at least 5 personal fouls so far tonight.
 
Hawaii probably paid them to come out and play. Its a meaningless game in Hawaii, i.e. a free vacation. They then get to spend New Years in Florida.

Not a bad month to be on the Cincy team.

If you play an OOC game at Hawaii then you get an extra regular season game, its the NCAA's way of giving an incentive for teams to actually travel to Hawaii.
 
Indeed. The NCAA allows Hawaii to schedule an extra home game so that they can offset their road schedule in the WAC.

This is also why Chaminade (a DII school) gets to host a DI basketball tournament every year.
 
Cincy pulled it out with a 19-0 run to end the game (TD, FG, Saftey, TD), edging Hawaii out 29-24.

I wonder how it must feel to play till 3:00 AM your time.
 
When you play that badly you probly like the fact that no one was awake to watch that horrendous display
