OSU affraid of UGAg brawl?

I thought the same thing when I read it, and tried to find an article showing where they would have reasons to brawl....

Maybe Gundy made his players angry trying to motivate them.

Either way, doesn't sound good when a coach says that, makes it seem like he doesn't have control of his team (especially with no proof of instigation).

Hell, if I saw 70 of those silver-britched inbreds coming at me at once, I'd be afraid of an assault & battery situation too.

It could be that he is concerned about the mutts being off their leashes... I still think the endzone 'celebration' against Fla is one of the things that stands out about ugag nationally due to the publicity s#$^storm it created, plus all of their other sideline shenanigans... it makes them seem undisciplined.

Also, I really think this handshake thing is a terrible idea. Putting a bunch of high strung, amped up athletes that have been preparing all week(all year for the opener) face to face is gonna end up like that scene in The Waterboy....

Boucher: 'Best of luck on the upcoming play'

OL #62: 'I'll be playin with your momma tonight'

Boucher: '62 62 62'

Refusing to read that the drivel about the humpers on the AUC, I'll comment anyway. I wonder if the context is part of the whole endzone celebration in Jax and the mid-field stomp at Vandy in the past few years and the perception that the Rev may have a tad of a control issue over the convicts.

Schultz just posted another article...apparently he's stating the only justification for Gundy's comments are the opening hand shake idea.

I can easily seeing OSU losing this game. There seems to be every element working against them, and Gundy is doing an awful job of keeping his team on track. Sadly, I'm getting the feeling that UGA is going to lay the stick to OSU.

Mandatory politeness is stupid. What is the point of a pretentious handshake when nobody means it? And if they do mean it, the gesture is diminished by the mandate.

That's my vibe pretty much as well. Gundy's acting like an ass. Father Richt will administer absolution and then we can all go home.

How would this handshake deal even work? I think the majority of the time it will be fine, but I cannot imagine this resulting in anything other than more fights before or during games. These administration bozos always try and do something that seems okay in theory, but the common sense seems to go out the window. I went to the Clemson game last year and b/w every play the stadium played some ridiculous hype-up song and no less than 6-7 Clemson players were dancing (while on the field). Clemson is not too different than any other team. And if that scene was indicative of a pre-game handshake, this will not be a good thing. I am not a fan of the dancing, only b/c it seems suggestive of players not really focusing, but that is just an example of how a simple handshake b/w 150 players ready to go to war may not end well.

I think the pregame handshake idea is dumb to begin with. I mean you want your team sky high and ready to hit somebody, not saying "good luck" to 100 guys in a different color jersey. But to the article, I think it has more to do with Gundy being crazy than anything else.

I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Obviously, I always want that ****hole joke of a university to lose, but I hope that being over inflated will make the crash back to Earth that much more spectacular. The problem is that St. Richt seems to get his team on a roll, and this will certainly do that. I do not want to see UGA get good again.

This guy has demonstrated in the past that he has difficulty expressing himself properly. I suspect what he was getting at is that keeping about 200 charged up guys from doing something stupid and trying to contain them if even one of them loses his cool is a bad situation to put the coaches in. It's exactly why UGA's TD celebration in the UF game two years ago was such a volatile situation, and the Florida coaches and SEC officials had reason to be upset over it.

I tend to agree with those saying that all the stuff coming out of Okie State this week suggests that they aren't ready for prime time. It's not gonna surprise me at all if they are badly unfocused and tight and play poorly.

I remember in high school our head coach would gather us together in our locker room to say the Lord's prayer prior to taking the field. Right before kickoff we would all huddle together on the sideline and pray again.

I'm all for prayer --I pray a few times a day-- but I remember our o-line coach mumbling to some of us about praying for the opponent right when we're ready to go out there and knock their heads off.

This handshake thing seems to fall along those similar lines --you're ready to knock someones head off but you're going to "touch gloves" first?

When are these handshakes supposed to take place --half-hour before kickoff, one minute before kickoff?

They will lay the stick to OSU and then either lose to South Car by 3 or beat South Car by 3

I hate to say this but I think the Dawgs are going to roll the Cowboys.

The rumor is now that the OSU QB, Robinson is hurt and may not play. Vegas has taken the game off of the boards until everything is sorted out.

Oklahoma State sources confirm that quarterback Zac Robinson is healthy and will start in Saturday's season-opening showdown matching the ninth-ranked Cowboys and 13th-ranked Georgia in Stillwater.

On Wednesday, the Internet rumor mill indicated that Robinson had re-injured his hamstring and could be sidelined for the Georgia contest.

Any such report is "completely, absolutely false," an OSU source said. On Monday, Robinson said he would be "100 percent ready" for the opener.

Against Georgia, Robinson makes his 25th consecutive start. The fifth-year senior from Littleton, Colo., is OSU's career leader in total offense.
