THE ISSUE: Georgia Tech fans behave violently at game
WHAT WE THINK: Need for better behavior at all schools

Fans watching this Saturday's football game from home might have missed a rather violent display of school spirit. The behavior exhibited by the fans at Georgia Tech made the crowd at Alumni Stadium look downright saintly.

The crowd hurled water bottles at Boston College cheerleaders, and the officials were forced to stop stopped play not once, not twice, but five times over the course of the game.

The worst came when fans chastised radio personality Jayme Parker, referring to her as a "slut," telling her to go home, and using other graphic, demeaning, and crass language. Behavior bordered on verbal assault.

It's quite funny how you start posting here again after we lose. Where were you the past two weeks? Probably crying in your beer while your dawgs got raped by some cocks.

Night games = double digits hrs tailgating. People are just too drunk to act rationally.

Wow. Those fans must have been really angry. Those water bottles cost like $5 each.

Geetee, have you ever made a positive post? If there is something negative about Tech written anywhere we can count on you to bring it to our attention. BTW, this is old news and has been discussed before now. At least get current.

This is not the hive.

:dead_horse:This is the way I feel about this post

:sad01:This is the way I feel about BC's whining

And you've obviously never read much of geetee's stuff. You'll probably have him on your ignore list before too long - I'm much happier not knowing what he said.

I simply asked a question geetee, and you once again haven't answered it. Most fans don't go out of their way to find negative stuff about their team. If you want to criticize game management or talk about what we should be doing differently or better that's one thing. But I've never heard of a fan of a school who is 100% negative about that school.

And GTKyle, you simply haven't been around here long enough to have an opinion on this. Not saying someone has to be around a while before their opinion is meaningful, but this is an old conversation that you're coming in on the tail end of.

ignore list ftw

I laugh at all of you who actually read anything he said, and am comfortable in the knowledge that I can actually probably guess what he said without reading it. Probably something along the lines of:

LOOK AT THIS (SPORTSWRITER/DISCUSSION BOARD POSTER/ESPN IDIOT) WHO SLANDERED TECH. HE CLEARLY KNOWS MORE ABOUT FOOTBALL THAN ANYONE ELSE, BECAUSE OF HIS EXTENSIVE QUALIFICATIONS AS A (SPORTSWRITER/DISCUSSION BOARD POSTER/ESPN IDIOT). IF ONLY WE HAD THAT (SPORTSWRITER/DISCUSSION BOARD POSTER/ESPN IDIOT) AS A COACH WE WOULD NEVER LOSE ANOTHER GAME. CHAN WAS DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBSCURING THE OFFICIALS VISION VS BOSTON COLLEGE. IT IS OUR DUTY AS TECH FANS TO SLANDER OUR TEAM WHENEVER POSSIBLE.

NEVER ACCEPT MEDIOCRITY!

beej67,
did I get it right?

Geetee's intentions were unmasked long ago --he's an interloper. The only difference in his more recent posts is that, once he was called out for what he is, he will sneak in a few posts, like this on about the Budweiser song:

Great song to play at the end of the 3rd quarter when you're down. Gets you more up beat and back into the game.

..but you'll notice he cannot help himself and never 100% masks his true intentions --witnessed here in bold.

If you go to any school that gives a crap about football and the game is officiated as poorly as ours was in favor of the visiting team, you are going to get this sort of behavior.

And if you are the visiting team's cheerleading squad and you decide to run across the field, stop in front of the home team's crowd to wave flags and dance a jig after the above behavior is going on, you really are stupid if don't expect this to happen.

At what point are the officials accountable?

My apologies Geetee for misquoting you --this was your 'Budweiser' post:

You are so right... this fires me up like nothing else!!! One of the best traditions in college football, no doubt...

You actually did good here --someone who didn't know better might indeed mistake you for a GT fan.

doesnt matter who posted this article, point is, we are shown to be a classless fan base on national TV and ongoing in articles like this. Its embarrassing to me and should be to you! Why mask issues of shame with discussing who presents it, the facts need to be presented and addressed. The responses to this thread are dumb.
