Overheard at the coffee shop this morning...

That's a myth. They just say that to get Tech fans all riled up. If the Tech game doesn't mean anything, then why is it basis for firing? If Richt had lost as many to us as he had to Florida, he'd be gone.

If our game with them isn't a rivalry, why do their fans buy SEASON TICKETS to Tech just to get a ticket to the game? In fact, more people buy our season tickets when UGA is supposed to be really good.....I wonder why that is?

It is like not using a rubber, you don't care until you have a problem.

I don't know. I think I really take offense to anyone saying that we should be proud to win one of three against UGA. It discredits the kids on our field and it is truly settling for mediocrity. We have a world-class coach and a world-class AD and some of the best, smartest, and hardest worker SA's in the country. To say that they should be proud to win 33% of the time against a second-rate football factory is a slap at the Institute, and I take those very personally.

A great man once said that intelligence on the field would trump skill. That still holds true. And we are smarter.

Noone said that we can't mitigate the disadvantages. Just that they exist.

From my POV, UGA fans should expect to win at least 70% of the time based on advantages that they have. Doesn't mean that we should expect 30% and be happy with it (and I don't think that's what coldbeer is implying either).
