Paul Johnson Can't Recruit

Paul treats kids like kids and won't kiss their ass. Chan kissed everyone's ass and never beat georgia. Would it be great to have a coach that loved recruiting AND was a great gameday coach? Yes. Can we find one?

Who are the best gameday coaches that aren't at the big instate school but still pull big time recruits?

Shaw- Stanford
Gundy-OSU
Dantonio-MSU

Maybe I'm missing one or 2 but most of those guys are locked in where they are and none are in SEC country recruiting against them. Georgia does not have great academics and the SEC has been shoved down these kids throats since they were little.

OSU and MSU are still big in-state schools, just not the biggest and most popular in the state. They have plenty of sham majors to hide athletes in and lots of good looking women, the two things that hold back GT recruiting the most.

Yeah I don't disagree. My point was that it's the closest thing to ace recruiting and great coaching while being the little brother. They are big in-state schools but are also matching against true blue bloods. The only people that put georgia in the category of blue blood are georgia fans.

Not only do those other coaches not have the academic restrictions but also don't have to worry about a different confrence surrounding them or even competing with a school in a different confrence for recruits. My point is you drop any of those coaches (including Patterson) off at GT they fare no better in recruiting or results, likely worse.

This article is a shame... We took more Out of state players before Coach Ted Roof got here.... Also CTR and CMP have opened up LA.... Most of our team comes (80 to 90 percent) from GA! Then the 90% of the Out of state players come from the Carolinas, FLA, BAMA, Tenn or LA.... We use to get a few from DC/NE... Coach Ron West was hire to help with National recruiting and he has done a nice job.... But make no mistake about it, Tech has a ton of players from Georgia. We are a not a factory so we are not looking for factory kids... This article should have never been written... You cannot and should not ever compare Georgia Tech to the like of a factory school ever!!!!!
