It's stupid to have that thing in GA anyways when GT is right here. GT should be the team in it every year, not Bama....

I agree, but I'm sure the reason why Tech will hardly ever be play in it is Hotel sales. The whole point of the Chik-Classic is to bring money from outside of the city to Atlanta via hotel bookings, restaurant meals, bars, touristy ****, etc.

I'd love to see it, but I don't think it will happen anytime soon.

This year will be a real comedown for the ASC though. The economy for one thing and a lot of Bama fans won't want to come back to ATL again to get fleeced against a wussy ACC team. And VT doesn't travel at all well, will already be coming to ATL to meet GT later (if our home and home continues). There will be a lot of empty seats in the dome this time around.

We need to come to the realization that we are not considered "sexy" in the eyes of the nation. Our system is a pain in the arse to prepare for and most coaches do not want to spend their offseason with this on their plate.

You want to be on this stage, in this game, get the exposure, and keep the other schools out of Atlanta? Turn the game into the Chick-Fil-A clean old fashioned hate game. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY WE WILL EVER BE A REGULAR PARTICIPANT IN THIS EVENT!

The only thing I would not like that UGA gets all summer to prepare. However, they have been known to have a kid or two get in to offseason trouble .....

What are you talking about? The ASC would never go for that. Two local teams who aren't going to bring in any extra revenue, and a game that won't get much attention on the national stage? What's the point in even doing it for them?

The game would be watched because of a) the rivalry and b) its the only game on television that night.

God no, this is a terrible idea. I enjoy having the UGA game at the end of the season. It's the game, it should come last in the season. Plus, having a corporate sponser for it cheapens the entire thing.

Also, the Chicken sandwich with a pickle kickoff classic is not about getting an interesting game, it's about getting people from outside of Atlanta to spend their money in the city. The game after Thanksgiving won't generate any revenue. Tech fans will drive in from their homes and Dawg fans will crawl out from under their rocks and bridges. It won't increase hotel bookings.

As opposed to getting a game like Bama and VT, which would be about two teams sidewalk fans care about, they would bring in a ton of money with hotel and restaurant sales, and...well, it would still be the only game on television.
