My source (Impeccable) has told me Johnson will either opt to stay at Navy or move on to SMU for the $$$. Unfortunately, DRad and "the board" couldn't offer him more than 1.5.

Chris Hatcher is now the leading candidate.

Your source says this as of when? After meeting today? Last night?
 
Geez guys --what is going on? I left ATL yesterday morning for a conference in Savannah --just able to log onto the Internet and I get this: Muschamp was indeed shot down by Clough and his people --PJohnson is not affordable --we may simply 'give' the job to JN?

Man --let's hire Hatcher and be done with this. He's affordable --he's young and entergetic --he's been successful --knows the area --and I just have a feeling he would do a good job at GT if given the opportunity.

Agreed and if PJ is indeed out I think this is what will happen.

No kidding!!! D-Rad gave us his description of the type of HC he wanted. WM and CH both fit that mold. WM got shot down. What is the hold up? Make the call to Statesboro and get this thing done.
 
D-Rad gave the description of who he wanted since he already, according to Dem, had WM as the top candidate. He was basically describing WM.
In the end, it should just matter if we win
 
AAAAAAA I don't think I can take much more of this. All the twists and turns are like a freakin soap opera. Obviously, I would be ecstatic if we do end up with Hatcher, but this is just getting crazy. I'm gonna hit the gym and try to actually get some work done this afternoon...maybe I can keep myself off the message boards for a while until we know something concrete.
 
If we really expected to hire an established coach for $1.5M then someone is totally missing the boat. That's just not reasonable in today's market. But if DRad expected to pay $1.5M or less, then it means he really did expect to hire Muschamp or someone who isn't a current D-1A HC. Just my 2 cents.

Someone make the call. As I said earlier I'm in Savannah this week. I'll pick up BOR --we'll head to Statesboro --and we'll seal the deal!

Wow, a lot of people are in favor of the Hatch attack.

I've heard mixed reviews on just about everyone. People have come out heavily in support or anger over WM, PJ, and RN. But, Hatcher seems to have a lot of big supporters, but none of the, "We'd suck with that guy" folks. Everyone seems to be "meh" on Tenuta.

Am I crazy? Does anyone out there just think Hatcher would suck here?
 
AAAAAAHHHHH! Stop with all the drama! Drad, make the call to Statesboro and get this debacle done with before Hatcher changes his mind!

At the beginning of the process, someone ran a poll with about 20 different potential candidates on it and got about 300-500 responses. Chris Hatcher got like 58% of the votes and PJ was 2nd with about 28%.

If you look at the "Your List Only" thread started yesterday I think, there were 30-40 responses to it and all but 4-5 listed Hatcher as their 1st choice.

Our AD apparently has a very different opinion of Hatcher than everyone else.
 
Think the big drawback that people see in Hatcher is his lack of D1 experience. Yes, I know he was at Kentucky, but he hasn't been in an OC or HC role. That being said, I think he has a lot of upside and for the cost, is worth the risk. HATCH ATTACK!!!
