Paul Johnson out!!!

Guys to sound like the pompous ass that I am, What does a program like SMU offer that an old, established and respected program like GT does not offer? If it is only the money then I am glad it came out now. PJ is my man but if he is coming here for the money then let him keep on walking.
 
SMU might have a lot to offer - it depends on the individual. Coaching is a job and like any job you or I might want, there are a lot of factors involved. If working for an "old, established, and respected" program was the criteria, everyone in America would be working for GE, P&G, Ford, or IBM.

Uhh, Gailey never went against Muschamp. Muschamp was at Auburn in 2006, 2007. gailey played Auburn in 2003,2005. And just for fun go look at Muschamp's defensive rankings over the last two years at Auburn and between 2001-2004 with LSU. I'll give you a hint, he was in the top ten overall every year. BOOM!!!

Yet somehow he's not as good as Tenuta? Give me a break. He's a younger, better Tenuta, who can recruit.

Maybe he's looking for a counter-offer. In fact, I think dems' posts indicate that he's expecting one from us... but that we won't match their money.
 
I'm really getting worried that we're not going to land any of our top-tier guys (hatcher, johnson, RN, Muschamp) while settling for Tenuta.

Yeah... I hate to say it but Tenuta as a head coach doesn't really excite me, at least that's just my gut reaction.

While I agree with this statement, the question we need to be asking is which coach will assemble the better staff (specifically, offensive coordinator).

Speaking of which, comments regarding our current OC have be virtually nonexistent. Bond came in here with some decent fanfare and the prevailing wisdom is that the guy was held back by FHCCG.
 
I said before Chan was fired that I wouldn't mind seeing Tenuta promoted, Giff promoted, Chan gone, and Joe or George as a QB coach. That's a good staff, IMO. And affordable.

I'm not going to change my mind just because of 9 days of freakoutery.

I'm open to other staffs, but if we get that one I'm still happy.
