Paydirt

Your posts are now pretty worthless since you support Hines Ward, the leagues biggest thug and ex-Dawg.
What a joke of a post. As much as I hate Hines for being an ex-Dawg, he's a class act and a great football player. I'd say that if anything your posts are now pretty worthless.

I gotta hop on the 'Hines isn't a thug' bandwagon here too.

Ex-mutt, yes, deserving of ridicule because of being an ex-mutt, yes, but he's not a thug.

i think i realize that midatlantic must be a Ravens fan from balimore or something. how he can say that Hines Ward is a thug while he cheers for a murderer is pretty funny.

he is just pissed that Hines broke a guy's jaw by HITTING HIM HARD BUT LEGALLY on the FOOTBALL field

that is different from stabbing someone to death in Buckhead.

Look you took one post and turned it into your punkfest. If Hines Ward character was built on your support, he'd be the least liked player in the NFL.

Actually, he may be that already.

Go ask around the league. Ray Lewis, who did not knife anybody, is a very well liked player. He's intense, but clean; plays fairly. There are quite a few pro and college players that look up to the guy.

Hines Ward, particularly from those teams that play him often, is considered a cheap shot artist. He's a punk (and my opinion has nothing to do with him being a Dawg; that was just fun to add on with.) He is a specialist of taking cheap late hits.

show me one flag for a late hit, buddy. and dont think that the refs dont hear about these "reputations", they do and they look for it. just like the cut blocks from the denver offense. so show me ONE late hit flag on Hines Ward

if you are not a player, then you dont know what the players talk about. you only know what you read in the Baltimore newspapers.

and if Lewis didnt stab anyone, then at least he was there when it happened and it was one of his THUG pals. now i actually like RL even though this occurred bc he has been an exemplary player and citizen since then, so at least he learned something.

but find me one article like this about Hines Ward: http://bentcorner.com/2008/10/ray-lewis-is-a-thug/

now, it is true that Ward will hit you HARD, even when you are not looking. you may call that a cheap shot, but really, if its within the rules, its called FOOTBALL. i dont think anyone called LT a cheap player, but he blind-sided many a QB.

when you are on the field with your helmet on, you should be looking around to make sure you dont get hammered. especially if it is your division hated rivals like Cincinasty and Baltiless. the funny thing is that the Ravens put a BOUNTY on Ward, and one guy said he would KILL HIM, and what happened? Hines leveled that dude again.

the funny thing is that the Ravens put a BOUNTY on Ward.

I'm sure you know this because you were there (as opposed to reading it in the papers). You are extremely one sided. I wish you well in life. Congrats on your Steelers victory. You have a great team this year.

thank you for the congratulations. it was a hard-fought victory over a team that has an awesome defense

both teams do. and both could use some help on offense.

but, as regards the thing about the bounty, the guy SAID IT HIMSELF on the radio. is that stupid, yes, but also it is FACT.

Yesterday we in the sports world were lucky enough to learn that Terrell Suggs of the Baltimore Ravens admitted on a radio show that the team had a bounty out on the Steelers Hines Ward. Suggs said on the 2 Live Stews radio show that there was a team bounty on knocking out Ward and as you would imagine, the team is backtracking on such a statement. Get outta here!

I travel with the team when not following Tech games around the country. (I don't want to oversell that because this year for example, I went to a whole slew of Tech games.) I was told first hand that that statement was made to help 2 Live Stews national ratings. They love the Stews. I think one of the Tech guys put Suggs up to that in fact.

ok, so now i better understand your hatred of things gold and black - do you have a relative on the team/staff/admin?

what about that Bart dude admitting that he twisted Reggie Bush's ankle on purpose?

Its a fine line between telling guys to knock someone out, and then blaming a guy for hitting you when you arent looking. that is why the only rules should be: a) was it legal according to the rules, and b) was he really trying to hurt someone.

those two factors are the only two that can be evaluated and the second one, not always

the fact is that most NFL receivers cant block worth crap and are scared of contact. then dont like Hines b/c he LOVES to hit people and likes to block and is good at it. CPJ would LOVE hines at Tech. lots of blocks downfield!

A couple of points in this back-n-forth..

1. There is a bounty on players in almost every game from College to the NFL. No one talks about it, but it is well known.

2. Hines Ward is a "to the whistle" tough player. He catches DB and LB slipping all the time. The same people looking to catching him slipping.

3. From pee-wee football, you learn to keep your head on a swivel. This is usually the first time most kids ever hear about a swivel. So I don't feel sorry for NFL defensive players getting hit by a WR during a play.

4. Most of Hines Ward's catches are over the middle. It is not like he is running fly patterns all day.

The only problem I have with late hits or knock out hits is if the player getting hit has NO chance of making a play. That is dirty and yes that player will be dealt with the next game.

We respected each other and knew we had families to support. There is an unwritten rule between us players of what is fair and what is not. For example a couple years back, douche bag sapp took out GB olineman Clifton, Clifton was 25 yards from the play and sapp blinded sided him and he broke his hip. I've been blind sighted but it was my own fault, I also got the person back who did it too me.

Just remember what goes around comes around. My personal opinion is HW walks a fine line.

The Steelers fans are treated very well in Baltimore. They are allowed to wave their stupid filthy towels (for those not in the know, their fans wipe their brow, etc. all game long). However, when travelling to Pittsburgh, the same is just not true. My distaste for the Steelers has more to do with that than their football players. It reminds me of visiting Athens.

Regarding Hines Ward, I stand by what I say. He is known around the league as a cheap shot artist. There are lots of good down field blockers, he is one of them. There are a couple of down field blockers that take out bodies away from and after the play is over. Choose what you want.

Regarding Ray Lewis "we're going to knock someone's head off!" I remember when FSU's Andrews said on national t.v. that "knocking out Joe Hamilton" was priority #1. There was zero outrage. I was pissed to hear it, and by the way, that's exactly what they did. But it's just terminology. Don't get too excited about it. It's football and a very intense high contact sport. If you play soft, you lose.

Regarding the Live Stews. I was kidding. It was tongue in cheek. It was a joke.

Oh yea, PJ. I actually thought long and hard about that. I actually believe that the Ravens get worked up over Hines Ward and it hurts them. He is under their skin (at least the last few). But this game was different. It was a great ole fashioned butt kicking game. They weren't interested in Ward at all.

Having said that, it was funny that for the coin toss, the Ravens sent out Suggs and the Steelers sent out Hines Ward. Suggs refused to shake Ward's hand. I think there's probably a little more to it then just press clippings. From my perspective, Ward played cleanly (maybe because the attention drawn his way up front?).

Heck, I can't remember the game now, but just two weeks ago someone got hit on the knee and the player was pissed and wanted a piece of the other guy. It looked cheap and wrong and even the ESPN announcers said "I'd go kick the guys butt too."

those two playing each other is a blood-bath. the most physical game in the league by a long shot!

they should get credit for TWO games for that one.

its good that neither team was stupid or had any major injuries. If the Ravens had a veteran QB or the Steelers had an Oline and a healthy backfield, look out!

the other cool thing is the two coaches are just badasses. Tomlin is awesome. Harbaugh has the team 100% there and they like him. It is good to see, in my opinion, b/c i love the AFC "norris" division

i hope the Ravens destroy whoever they play the next two games, that can only help my team

i think Flacco might just be a little too young to get good enough while Lewis and many on that are still playing..

so, good game, nice discussion

at least neither Ward nor Suggs nor Lewis are a Sean Avery.

Pittsburgh, Cleveland and New England are the worst stadiums I ever went too. I literally had to take a shower after warm ups at the old three rivers stadium for the spit, beer and liquor thrown at us.

I blew my knee out in New England and the bastards spit and threw their drinks on me as they carted me off the field.

Cleveland, they about molested my wife as we had too hire security for them.

It happens all over the league. Just be glad they aren't as bad as the nadlickers.

At Ravens stadium I make the fans flush the friggin toilet before they leave. HaHaHa. We are a young team so we're pretty couth yet.

I will say that our first couple of years, there were serious fights in my section. But as time wore on, and tickets became more of an unbearable cost for some, our section is very amiable now. I had to make the guys get up and make some noise against the Steelers. (They all looked at me funny, but then they did.)

From the Baltimore Sun this morning, kicker Jeff Reed claims that Raven's Walker spit in his face causing Reed to go berserk and get a personal foul penalty.

As the Sun says "This would even be lower than the cheap shot Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward tried to take at Ravens inside linebacker Bart Scott on a peel-back block in the second half Sunday."

I like TC. I was hoping to read some insightful info on TC and his performance against NY or maybe, if I was lucky, a vid clip of his TD. Instead I get a pissing match about Hines Ward, the Steelers, NFL bounties, etc. WTF? Its frustrating as hell.

I already know, so save it: "If I don't like it, go somewhere else." I already have.

BTW, why even have subject lines? For that matter, why have separate threads? Why not just one giant, humongous, random stream-of-consciousness, rambling?

Why not start a sidebar chatroom if you want that?
