Pelton ded

Oh, golly gee, Mr. Coit. I never thought of it that way. You're so smart.

So you're saying CPJ risks his milliom dollar salary to purposefully keep an assistant coach that is a detriment to the program.
No, he doesn't risk anything because he has rightly determined that he can do as he damn well pleases and no one in TechNation can touch him. Go 3-9, you get to stay; end the bowl streak, you get to stay; two losing seasons in the last three, you get to stay; run off starting players, you get to stay; keep my good ol; boy, non-performing buddy, you get to stay.

He has "earned the right" to make his staff choices: best winning % since Dodd; two Orange Bowls; ACC Championship: Beat the leghumpers 2 of last 4. That being said, I don't believe you get to be a D1 HC by choosing to keep sub-standard assistants.

He can stay because he has credit from an orange bowl win, a gator bowl win and two wins over uga in athens within that same time period, and because the AD before TStan couldn't give any shits about his job. Give it a rest dude. Let's see what he can do with a defense worth a damn. We've been underpaying coaches, getting shitty DCs and not getting enough staff for recruiting as long as he's been here.

They haven't even announced Woody or the 10th coach yet. Let's give it some time. You guys think this is JG Wentworth commercial or something.

i wanted sewak gone for nearly all of tevin's years, but i have to give credit - he did eventually field some decent OL units; the recent ones that were bad were plagued by injuries. The DL on the other hand has struggled most of the time that pelton has coached it with a couple individual exceptions.

KeShaun Freeman’s disappearing act is puzzling to me still.

After freshman year, teams started paying a lot more attention, and I don't think he progressed enough to offset it. Our blitz packages were always obvious too, which doesn't help.

I totally disagree with that. Not like he was being doubled and not like he was being unblocked as a freshman. He wasn’t the only defender to go missing either after a decent season.

Too often you would see a TE completely nullify his pass rush. Not what you want out of a starting DE.

DT is the explanation. Freshman year he was playing alongside Gamble and Gotsis, future NFL players. Gotsis left then Gamble left, so Keshun's performance suffered. Keshun might have been playing better but with less support

That’s a good point about the tackles he played with as a freshman. I was disappointed that he did not seem to get physically stronger over his career. This year he was very easily blocked.
