Strong was who I wanted at GT before we hired CPJ

Of course, If he did well he still would have left for Texas

Strong would have been an awful fit at Tech. He specializes in keeping kids who shouldn’t be in college eligible and teaching them things like “don’t hit women.” This makes him a great fit at less discriminating institutions like Louisville and USF but those are not the kids you need to win at Tech. Or Texas either, although those were booster egos he ran into there instead of the academic egos that he would have run into here.

I can't stand your political posts and leanings, but you are spot on this. I too, know some inside on this as a past alumni president of SPSU. Probably wrong location for this discussion as this was about Biker Boy, but Rossbaucher was told, and I quote, "If you know what's good for you, you keep your mouth shut about Georgia getting engineering."
I do not have a clear understanding of how the BOR has affected the various schools but I did know that the ability of UGA to creat engineering majors was a big fu to Tech. They are also keeping tech from adding new majors are they not? Or has there not been a big push to get new majors?

The major expansion question, for me at least, always falls into the same grey area of GT recruiting restrictions with academic exceptions. There’s a lot of talk about it and it certainly isn’t beyond reason to believe in it but there isn’t any real evidence to support it one way or the other that I’ve seen

Tech was never in Ugag's scope. They knew/know that they will NEVER be at Tech's level. Southern Poly and Ga Southern were the ones in their crosshairs. But it is very hypocritical of them to add 'engineering', while limiting Tech's ability to expand.

Great idea, we need to pull our resources together and get a Tech man elected Governor. I’m all for that. Stansbury should lead the charge, he’d benefit more than anyone.

And for a GT man for Lt. Gov, and last election for a GT man as U.S. senator, but NEVER an anti Semite, socialist, hate America first scum for Gov.

As regards BoR and GT majors - the BoR will never allow us new majors if the idiots on the Hill never apply for them.

So all that "I'd pull for the Taliban before I'd pull for UGAg" is just bullshit?
