Petrino to Arkansas

I don't blame Petrino one bit. There was no way that he was going to have control of the team. The front office allowed him to run it anyway he wanted to as long as discipline of the players wasn't part of it.

I don't care how much talent #21 supposedly has, he needs to be run out of town.

I don't blame him either, bunch of punks on that team. But, I sure as hell would'nt want him at Tech...GO DOGS! AND TAKE THE FALCONS WITH YOU!

He has got to be fed up, first with Vick and then on Monday night football the other Falcon thugs pay tribute to Vick. Most of the NFL "players" could not make it as a regular employee of Home Depot. The money, the attitude, the BS from the players makes me sick. I hope Petrino does well in Hogville.

Looks like Mr Blank needs to look in aisle 7 for help??

That is completely inaccurate and disrespectful to everyone in the NFL. You hear and see the BS from the few players who do it because you watch ESPN and read the media, and that stuff makes for good stories. The other 90+% of the players just go about pouring their heart and time into the game, working harder than most people work at their desk jobs, and will never be in trouble with the law.

Correct in a few ways, the bad apples get the most press, cry the loudest, play the worst and some support Vick. For 16- 18 days of work at the office a year? The players of the 50 -70's are actually working at jobs today to make ends meet, the players today want all the money now for a little work, so they can retire and not work.

What a punk bitch... he leaves us hanging dry 3/4ths the way through the season. Arkansas and him were made for each other... slime going home to slime.

Vick's posse, led by Alge Crumpler, never gave Petrino a chance. I don't blame him for hightailing it out of Vickville.

Glad you specified "people with desk jobs" if you had just left it at 'work harder than most people' I would have had to tell you, you were silly.

Are you kidding me? Are you just making stuff up or do you really think that is true?

And what is happening to the players of the past is a travesty, but it just underscores the necessity of money in a league in which every play could not only mean the end of your livelihood, but also the end of your ability to function normally in society. There is nothing wrong with getting the most money you can to do your job; everyone does it. Would you have them willingly turn into the players of the '50s and '70s, trying to make ends meet with incorrectly functioning bodies while the owners of the teams bathe in their millions?

That's a ridiculous cop out. It's the NFL - you can clean house in one offseason and bring guys in who fit the system (scheme-wise and attitude-wise).

Quite possibly the worst take in this thread. Crumpler didn't like Petrino's way of handing the players (no talking on charter planes, no talking during pregame meals, etc.) Does your boss tell you not to talk when you're at lunch? Crumpler was no cheerleader in during the Vick process - he showed support at times, but he didn't wear any "Free Mike Vick" T-shirts. Crumpler is a great citizen and a hard worker and is most definitely not one of the off-the-field problems this year.Hell, why don't you go ahead and throw Dunn's name out there, too? He has also publicly criticized Petrino this season and has shown similar support for Vick.
