Phil Smith

Yukon you must be from Tampa Catholic. Don't be a hater because Jesuit owns your alma mater in football. The fact that Tech was only going to take three (3) OL this year and Smith was chosen speaks highly of him. Coach Spencer visited Smith and Sanderson of Plant and offered Smith. Sanderson did not get an offer and he inked with F$U today.

You are getting bad skinny, sir. No all state, second team all Hillsborough county. Look he is a good kid, the kind we all should want, but he is not a stellar recruit. He is solid and could get better.

C'mon guys

Doesn't everyone know that Yukon knows more about football talent than Joe Paterno and Paul Johnson!! :fingersx:

F$U = Music Schoo :laugher:

yeah...just Penn State! pay attention Yukon!!

btw...today the coaches said at the Edge Phil Smith is even quick enough to be a good DL. They believe he will end up as big as Andrew Gardner.
Obviously, not being on staff as you are, I missed that insider info. I am not a recruiting groupie, either, but this is one of the few kids from Tampa that end up at Tech and I know a little about the local kids, like Godsey, Rashaun Grant, Eddie Lee, Jr., etc. But I will defer to your superior knowledge on recruiting. On the other hand, I have been seeing your posts for a few months, and you need some help on understanding the game of football as it is played at the Div. I level. You could benefit from my upcoming seminar---especially about coaching and coaching selections. I'll mail you the enrollment forms if you like.

Oh yeah, when was the last time a coach said," we are really apprehensive about the potential of one of our recruits--I sure hope we didn't screw up giving out that scholarship"? It's the nature of the beast to build up the guys that we sign. I honesty hope he's the Outland Trophy winner, another Nate Dorsey and goes #1 in the NFL Draft.

Sources say he was offered by FSU after the Jackets, and also that UF called Monday inquiring if he would decommit and consider becoming a Gator.

Committment means something to the Jesuit boys!

how cute....a local coaching clinic

Geoff Smith was on the local radio here and, while saying he was happy with all the recruits, he thought (when questioned on who was the sleeper of our class) Smith would be the sleeper of our class.
