This should be a < 3 point game. Pittsburgh looked terrible against a lame Miami team.
 
Pitt probably beats Miami if Narduzzi goes for it on 4th and goal at the Miami 1 yard line at the end of the game. Instead, he gets chicken-shit and kicks the field goal. Miami sees blood in the water, and promptly walks down the field and scores the winning TD. Narduzzi fails to learn his lesson from the Penn State and UCF games.
 
Obviously point spreads aren't just predicated on what you did your last game. Early lines posted multiple games ahead often don't change that much after teams play subsequent games, too.

But I agree with the general sentiment that this is a game we should keep close.
 
Pitt's pass rush may be a factor against our OL. They were murdering Syracuse QBs a couple of weeks ago (but didn't look as intimidating against Miami).

Pitt seems like another typical Coastal team - they don't scare anybody going in, but somehow we keep losing to them.

There's the key right there. Just when you start to think they're shitty, they go out and beat a Clemson or Penn State. Then you start to think "oh wow they're pretty good" and they get blasted by Duke. That's pretty much the entire Coastal right now.
 
We were an 18 point underdog to Miami, so this is progress. We need to do more than beat one bad ACC team in overtime to win the hearts of the oddsmakers.

Miami's OL is in about as bad shape as ours and they still only allowed 2 sacks and I believe those were the only TFL's by Pitt. For comparison, we had 3 sacks and 6 TFL's against Miami's offense. The thing that concerns me the most is Pitt's run defense. They are allowing 85 ypg and only allowed about 60 to Miami. I know Miami was supposed to have a stout run defense and we blew that open, so hopefully we can again. A lot of those yards were on Mason's 2nd efforts though. If Pitt tackles better than Miami, they may contain a little better. If they keep him under 100 yards for the game, we may have a long day on offense. Their secondary isn't as strong though, so maybe we can use the speedsters and downfield threats to open up the run game.

Narduzzi is well known for getting scared and taking the points.
 
We're going to cover that number with yellow jacket honey and shove it up Vegas' collective ass.
