PJ is to blame for this loss

One of the biggest gripes about Gailey was that the teams were not pumped up and motivated to play. He took a professional approach where the guys should be able to pump themselves up and be self-motivated.

That seems to be exactly what is happening now.

So, you're saying we should fire Derrick Moore? If so, I disagree.

defenses are going all out to stop our running game. if we can't pass, then it's game over. have to figure out the passing game (and pass protection, obv)

Haven't really followed the post game reports. My guess is PJ is blaming the players for the second week in a row.

The offense's complete inability to block anyone with a pulse was an "execution" problem right?

lol, what else would it be? we've seen the offense work extremely well for about 7 years now

I think his execution quote backfired in a different way this game. I think his linemen were TOO focused on their assignments and would not abandon them to put a body on the Duke players jumping the snap.

I also think it set us up to think, "Look we're still good enough to beat Notre Dame, so we're way better than Duke. We just need to execute." We brought no fight to the table.

We won't think that anymore. Our backs are against the wall and we'll play with much more consistent effort from here on out.

One of our best weapons, A-back #22 Snoddy Roddy, never got the ball once the entire second half. He had two good runs in the first half, 8 and 5 yard runs on the perimeter. He also had good runs against ND last week, including a 50 yard run on Tech's first TD drive. That was frustrating.

But Duke was expecting us to give him the ball. So by not giving him the ball we outsmart them.

Halftime adjustments, duh.

Our offense will always limit what we can do. They can overload the box because there is no worries for an opposing defense that we will throw over the middle. When you have 5 O lineman trying to block 7 defenders, it won't work. There are not many WR's that can line up in a tight formation that can block defensive ends or outside LB's. We do not have a "Jumbo" package that brings in bigger players in short yardage situations. Our offense is great when it is working, but we have to have the ability to adjust.

what I don't get is why we are missing so many blocks on Oline when we ran well last yr with 4 of the guys. Shaq was great but pleez

Your guess would be wrong. Listen to the first few minutes of the press conference.

Naw, I blame JT more than Johnson. JT is the one who had an awful day with reads and with audibles. That was literally the poorest I've ever seen him play and like I said in another thread I think it's mostly about the fact that he doesn't trust his teammates that much this year and is trying to do too much.

This is where we miss TB the most. JT has been horrible the last 2 games. Not only with his reads but every part of his game. I guarantee TB would have done better.

Don't get me wrong, I love JT, but lets face it, he's been awful so far this year.

Agree with this. Look at Duke last year - JT was having a really bad day and TB came in and steadied the offense. It's great to have a 2nd option when your 1st option isn't working well.

Dude, it's been 8 years. Let Taylor Bennett go.
