PJ's O catching on with VT fans

Gimmick schmimick

But, at the risk of inadvertently sucking up to any ex-OL on the board, I will say neither this offense nor any other will work unless the OL does its job.

As a corollary to that assertion, just about ANY offense CAN work if the OL does its job well.

Heroics at the "skill" positions can only take you so far.

It can't be much of a gimmick when it is built on principles I saw executed in the NCAA in grade school.

It will work. Other people will copy it. Defenses will practice against it more, and then it will work less.

The secret to success is to do something the rest of the league isn't doing.

Many have noted that this incarnation of the TO is different than the one we saw at Navy. Perhaps that is to cover up weakness in our execution, but I like to think it is also adapting the offense to the exploit the strengths of the personnel we have available.

I think after this year the fears of recruits seeking a path to the NFL will be calmed when they see the attention our top players get.

P.S.

I was trying to keep an even keel and be cautious about the season, but now I am getting wound up.

Great post, PJ will work towards his strengths. As for getting wound up, i'm waiting for the possibility to be 3-0 after this weekend, if that happens i'll be calling for the ACC Champ Game in PJ's first season.
