This downtrodden and poor SEC team can't pay for new goal posts after they likely barely broke even with only 100K fans in their stadium for the game. Dont get me started on that weak TV contract that barely pays the bills. Please donate to a great cause and help out a team so they can have their field ready for the next home game.

Counterpoint: Smart fundraising. Their fans will exuberantly donate to that cause.
The crazy part about it is the 100K fine from the SEC for having fans on the field at the end of the game. All of that smart fundraising just goes to the league office.

Counter-counter point. Why even bother when you already have more cash than you need? Plus, their fund raising goal is just $150K, a drop in the bucket for an SEC team with a 100K stadium.

Yeah, get what you mean. I'd donate if it were us because we'd probably need it and might end up playing with those old H-shaped goal posts otherwise

I think ours got ‘upgraded’ to the kind that get lowered after the VT game in 09 to prevent being torn down.

They don't have have more cash than they need. Yes they have the big TV contract, huge gate receipts, donations, etc., but they're competing with a bunch of other schools who have the same things. Plus they need to keep all of their other sports afloat, which costs more and more every year with conference expansion.

Not to say they're in any danger of going under or anything, but I have zero doubt that they can easily put a couple hundred thousand dollars to very good use.

Why not just charge the fans with destruction of property? Although, the VOLS can call 877-CASHNOW... LOL

A very hazy memory says they may have lowered them after FSU in ‘15
Still standing actually. The federales had 'em surrounded.

Yeah
We went to collapsible after 2009 VPI game because someone got hurt.

So I don’t think we’ll see much of the tearing them down anymore.

The guy sat behind me in 123. Broke his back when the goalpost came down on him. It was madness down there.
