Please stop with the "Can Chan" crap

I don't think so clapper. First, if Chan were to go at the end of the season, not all recruits would bail. Some probably would, but most would depend on who the new coach was. Second, DRad has seen this from the top remember. He knows more about how a football program is built than any of us on this board. If he believes the time to move is now, he will do it. I don't think Chan can survive another loss to ugag, any maybe that won't save him depending on how the rest of the season plays out.

I also don't think DRad would have a problem getting the money to buy Chan out. When UVA was getting rid of Jeff Jones I personally know of several UVA alumni who pledged to raise the buyout themselves. I'm sure there are Tech alums with the cash who would use it if needed.

Yes, but he also knows that one of the main reasons he was brought here was to clean up our fiscal mess. He has already admitted publicly that we will never have the resources of the likes of Bama and LSU. The time to move will also be dictated by our financial position. Maybe that is now, but I'm not convinced he thinks so...yet. Chan may be pissing a lot of fans off, but the books are coming closer to being balanced. DRad may be willing to take the heat for a while until he has the wherewithal to nail down the man he wants without taking a financial step back. His background would suggest that.

Maybe not yet. There are still some hurt feelings amongst the larger donors with the switch to the Tech Fund model. I think there are still some fences to be mended. It might could happen that quickly, but I haven't heard it yet.

The most realistic timing I think for removal would be after losing to UGAg. A quick decision and replacement within a week or two could save the recruiting class. If you can Chan in midseason then the remaining recruits don't come in and you give the ones in the house more time to rethink their commitment. By December more will on board and more important their alternatives dance cards will be more full, so they won't have the options they have if you pull the trigger next week after we lose to Miami.

DRad needs to be working the phone lines now though to gauge who potential replacements are. If they make a move on Chan this year however, I'm done for a while.

Hate to disagree but, I would be shocked if he is at the flats next year.

I think the only thing that can save him now is winning out and I don't see that happening. It is time for him to go.

Realistically he's got a 1 loss buffer, and that loss can't be to UGA.
