If Tech is 1-4 after 5 games, assuming the win is Western Carolina, and losses to Ole Miss, UCF, and Pitt SHOULD Coach Collins be fired?
Yes but with the caveat that he technically remains the head coach until the buyout is reduced but someone else actually runs the football team as awkward as that would be . So awkward he might just resign. If Tech is 1-4 after 5 games, assuming the win is Western Carolina, and losses to Ole Miss, UCF, and Pitt SHOULD Coach Collins be fired?
I really would like to see if his contract would define that as a termination and then we'd be paying a full buyout. I suppose we'll find out. I still think we have leverage to negotiate. Some folks just having a hard time grasping the fact that we can reassign him to janitor
Gives Chip Long a chance for a mid-season interview.A 1-4 start probably seals his fate, but there remains no reason to blow 5 million on a mid season firing. You'd be doing him a favor. Everyone will be well aware of what is going to happen.
Yeah, me too. I’m assuming we can do that, but maybe the contract says otherwiseI really would like to see if his contract would define that as a termination and then we'd be paying a full buyout. I suppose we'll find out. I still think we have leverage to negotiate.

You are probably right, to get fired at GT you have to have murdered someoneYes, he SHOULD be but it won't happen.
There is no way this would be true, unless he had the absolute worst attorney / agent in the world. Every executive contract has language that deems a material change in duties to be considered a termination. Can't imagine coaching contracts wouldn't be the same...Some folks just having a hard time grasping the fact that we can reassign him to janitor
