In all seriousness, there needs to be an Institute wide sit down and get everyone on the same page regarding athletics, especially football. From the President to the AD and all the way down, either a full buy in and commitment to excellence- which would necessitate a significant step up in resources and a commitment to getting those resources- or a step down to where we can compete given the current resources available.

I read this article yesterday, it’s from 2016. Bill Curry was echoing these sentiments then.

“The age-old charge of Georgia Tech athletics: There’s not a unifying presence,” he said.

Great post until the "step down" part. Otherwise, spot on.

I'll pay you handsomely to send a framed copy of the article to Cabrera.

True. But it won’t happen because the people who run GT don’t care enough about GT. They are just people doing a job and collecting paychecks. And the true power brokers in this state are all UGA fans so the BOR loves where we are concerning athletics. I don’t have the answer but I know where the answer won’t come from. And that’s from within GT right now. And the GTAA is freaking clueless. I received yet another email on Tuesday morning asking if I wanted to buy season tickets “for the last chance”. What genius in the GTAA authorized that email to be sent on Tuesday morning? GT has become a Comedy Central skit.

No, because of the money, but yes at the end of the year, unless he goes 7 in a row or goes 5-2 with a win over uga.

To be clear, I am not advocating in any way for the step down option, but this half hearted attempt and commitment from the top does not lend itself in any way to competing on the highest level.

There is no way this would be true, unless he had the absolute worst attorney / agent in the world. Every executive contract has language that deems a material change in duties to be considered a termination. Can't imagine coaching contracts wouldn't be the same...
So you're saying we could dress him up like a clown and have him lighten the mood around campus. Pop in on classes taking exams telling everyone they are doing great.

This is a sad, almost sick, post. It may well be that Collins will be fired after the season, but to bring this up after the first game is just psychotic. You need help.

this, 100%. Would rather drop down if the commitment isn't or won't be there. GT will cement its status as Duke or Vandy at that point (instead of it being temporary now).
