I think Cincinnati makes a decent jump (higher than 23rd). They look strong.

My guess is GT will be #12 in both polls.

Utah is still tied in the 3rd quarter against San Jose State, so that could shake things up in the polls.

No sweat. The climb begins this week against the U. As long as we keep taking care of bidness, the chips will fall correctly.

I agree; at this point the polls mean nothing to me.

We beat Miami like last year and we will crack the top 10.

I prefer flying under the radar for a while, anyway, until the offense gels. Don't want that big bulls-eye on our back yet.

If BYU beats FSU next week and isn't top 3, all the pollsters who didn't put them in the top 3 are biased and should be smacked in the face.

I'll bet you that Miami targeted Tech long ago because of the beat down on national tv last year. That's a bulls-eye that was painted long ago!

Shouldn't Houston be ranked ahead of Okie State?

And that's why rankings are retarded. It's just another argument for why tournaments are the only way to prove who is the best team. NFL does it, FCS does it, Bball does it, MLB does it, etc.

Houston won't be ranked higher than OkStU in the polls even though they beat them because the polls are stupid. I was trying to explain to my friend from Trinidad how the bowl system worked and he couldn't understand the concept of picking 2 teams out of a field of over 100 to go into a championship game based off of a 12/13 game season. Then I explained to him about the money and he was like ohhhhh now I get it. It's a shame that college football is such a money whore that we cheapen the way we crown a champion just to line the pockets of the NCAA, conferences, and schools with more money.

I don't think you automatically rate a team higher than another because they beat them. That would be a cluster. If its a true "upset" it means shiit happened, not that the underdog would win again if you played the next week again.

+1
In this case, Houston would have to be consistant and show that it's not a fluke. Hard to do if they aren't playing anyone else hardly worth mentioning. But my guess is that they lose to TT in 2 weeks.

They do have a bye week before that game and TT plays Texas the week before, so I wouldn't throw it in the "hardly possible" category.
