Play ND and then the leg humpers? Who came up with this dismal schedule?
The last games of the regular season have an exaggerated effect on polls, bowl selection, and public perception. A good season can really be undercut by a poor finish. On the other hand, winning those (or this year, being close) can give the program a big boost. Personally, I’d rather avoid playing those games late, since a few key injuries and less roster depth can make for lopsided losses that disproportionately hurt the public image of the team.

Think 1989 and be optimistic.

Hopefully we are lucky for once on injuries and the injury bug visits our late season opponents.

And then there are those of us who recognized that CPJ was not going to change his offense under any circumstances despite the obvious evidence that even Duke had figured out how easily it could be stopped.
Yes Duke figured out that if they have better players than us then they can stop the TO. Cutcliffe is a genius.

This. Some of the most miserable SOBs on here are the ones that only became Tech fans when we hired CPJ. The Georgia Southern contingent.
Curious, FHStinger, what part of coit's post do you take offense to?

There are the Tech fans who like CPJ.

Then there are the Tech fans that hate CPJ and never fail to bring up how much they believe he sucked at every opportunity.

Then there are the Tech fans, regardless of whether they liked CPJ or not, who choose to bring him up in threads that have nothing to do with him.

At 62, FHstinger prefers to be a realist and observer of history and results on the field, as opposed to being a pipe dreamer living in fantasy land.
At 61, 1982Jacket prefers to be slightly more optimistic going into a new season. And he remembers September 12, 1981. And FHstinger should, too. I mean, as long as we're doing third person douchebag talk.

Optimistic? Nope. Gooff Collins is a joke. 3-9. :coffee2:

FHstinger does remember Tech beating #1 Alabama that day. Bill Curry had a knack for getting his team up for big games. Curry tied #1 Notre Dame 3-3 in 1980. We attended the Auburn and uga games in 1981.

My dad bought us GT football season tickets the following year in 1982 for the first time, and every year there after until 2019.

And you wore your I ♥️ Herschell jersey to each and every game and barked your little heart out - woof woof woof and your dad would do his best not to be embarrassed.

Awesome.
