Post game press conference should be interesting

Why don’t reporters ask the real questions we care about?

“Paul, you said that they’re difficult to block giving the team no margin for error. Is that due to their recruiting and what are you going to do to close the recruiting gap?”

UGA has an annual athletics budget of $143.3 million dollars.

GT has an annual budget of $80 millions.

There is no way we can compete with schools who outspend us by 63.3 million every year.

As much as everyone wants to believe it...it’s really not true that a lot of our problems are coaching. We are getting outspent like a sonofabitch. And it makes it impossible to get the elite recruits when you can not offer them things like their own personal sports psychiatrist, massage therapy, water slides, and other crap they don’t really need.

Tech is permanently F’d against the likes of Clemson/Bama/Ohio State and all the other big spenders out there.

That's a good point. What makes it worse is that it's cumulative. 5 years of under spending by $60M is $300M. Think of what an AA could do with $300M.

We can’t find 25 player a year on $80m. We need to hire some $80kers to coach instead of a $3m/obstinate jerk.

You must not be in sales.

Recruiting = is essentially Sales.

Do you know how much easier it would be to sell UGA/Clemson to a high school kid than GT? You get so much extra support, facilities, and other random ass BS with the factory programs.

With $300M, you could build a water park just for athletes.

He pulled the ball on the mesh several times when the DE was not crashing down. That’s why he kept getting slammed in the backfield.

My point is that the pitches weren't going anywhere either. The safeties and DB's had the edge covered.

And my point is that he should've left the ball with the BBack by the very definition of the way the TO works.

...and get stuffed up the middle. Nothing was working at all Saturday .

ORLY?

First drive, 3 consecutive plays. Then no more dive.

Gt 2-5 at Gt40 Jerry Howard rush for 2 yards to the GT42 (D'Andre Walker;J. Ledbetter).
Gt 3-3 at Gt42 Jerry Howard rush for 4 yards to the GT46, 1ST DOWN GT (D'Andre Walker;Malik Herring).
Gt 1-10 at Gt46 Jerry Howard rush for 4 yards to the 50 yardline (J. Ledbetter).

Not another BB carry until the score was 35-7. Then these consecutive plays.

Gt 2-1 at Gt34 Jerry Howard rush for 6 yards to the GT40, 1ST DOWN GT (J.R. Reed;Tae Crowder).
Gt 1-10 at Gt40 Jerry Howard rush for 2 yards to the GT42 (J. Ledbetter;D'Andre Walker).
Gt 2-8 at Gt42 Jerry Howard rush for 3 yards to the GT45 (Natrez Patrick).

And that was the first half. The dive was there, and he got blown up in the backfield when he missed the reads. Maybe @Longestdays can break it down for us?

All we needed was 3 yards a carry and we were getting it.

It just wasn't there man. Nothing was there. That is almost not debatable.

While there is a big disparity in athletic dept revenue between UGA and GT, you gotta remember that Title IX and a bunch of other sports mandate that a lot of that get spent on things beside football. There certainly is an important gap between what UGA spends on football and what GT spends on football – but it's not $63,300,000 per year.

Yes, and Tech desperately needs to focus its attention toward getting one of its potential revenue drivers (football or MBB) in better shape. All other sports should be basically sustained for the time being, but no more spending money on Jumbotron for the baseball stadium or stuff like that.

Spend the money on football or MBB and get that going and then use money generated for other projects. Until then, spend title IX minimums on other sports.

I thought he shouldve given to the dive back so many times but it's probably easy to see this in slow mo replay vs trying to read a crashing DE/DT in real time.

I don't find player interviews to be very insightful. It's a little sadistic to ask these kids to comment on the public butt kicking the whole world watched them get. And what can they say anyhow?

The whole state, maybe. The rest of the country watched Michigan give up 62 to Ohio State.

I think baseball benefits from donations from players like Mark Teixeira. It is sad and frustrating that we have not been more successful in baseball recently since it is the only sport where we actually have advantages over our competitors. I agree on the expenditures for other sports.
For a few years around 1990 we had Bobby Ross, Bobby Cremins and Jim Morris. If only we could get to that level again.

Wesley, you drunk asshole. You forgot why you dislike me. You don’t know what you are talking about.
