Post-game presser

Not wasting my time listening. Questions that I would like answered are never asked. One thing I noted from yesterday's game that I wonder about is the many times that Syracuse jumped into the neutral zone and our center and offensive line did not react which would have drawn the penalty on Syracuse. Seems like everyone else does this and not sure of our staffs thoughts on this.

I'd like to see us just run 15-20 plays in a row without mistakes before having our center snap the ball when he feels he can get an offsides

The questions are always a complete waste of time. Ken Sigiura and Kelly Quinlan don't know jack about football. Instead of asking intelligent football questions, they waste time asking "how did it feel to go back in the locker room after the game was delayed?" Who cares.

His comments about the pregame speech stood out to me and he seems to lack confidence in this area. Doesn't directly translate to success on the field but that seemed odd. Deer in headlights moment?

Very little risk involved given that we racked up 15 penalties yesterday. And if you wait for us to run 15-20 plays in a row without mistakes, you are probably talking years, not weeks.

And our center will snap it, believing the other team is offsides, they won't be offsides, we will fumble the snap with our freshman QB, and folks will be on here, including you, saying "just work on getting a clean ööööing snap off." We don't need to be ööööing around with the snap right now. We need to consistently run plays, without penalties or turnovers, before worrying about "ha! They were offsides! That's 5 yards!"

Well then, let me know when we can run 15 - 20 plays without a mistake and then we can progress to doing what every other team in America does.

Well, not really. just the well coached ones.
I didn't realize the "catch the DL in the neutral zone" had such importance in your life. Obviously, it is the most important thing we should concentrate on. I hope you can avail yourself to the coaching staff and Mikey Minihan this week and next so you can impress upon them how vital the neutral zone is to your college football experience

I wouldn't trust the officials from the ACC, AAC or any other conference to make a correct call according to the rules of football. Maybe, just maybe, the coaches or players are uncertain that the call would be right even if there was a neutral zone infraction.

No, I am also interested in illegal substitution penalties too. We have racked up a bunch of those under this coaching staff also. We had 18 penalties called against us Saturday. Syracuse declined 3 of those. If you or anyone watching football does not realize that this many penalties is detrimental to winning the game, then nothing else to say. Bottom line, we are not a well coached team that lacks discipline. Obviously, you think we are and so again, we disagree. You have a right to your opinion and I as well.

My point is we need to clean up our offense before we start having Minihan snap the ball because he feels like he can get a neutral zone infraction. The last thing we need is for our QB to get blasted because the ball gets snapped and the OL doesn't block because they are operating on a different cadence. Let's concentrate on cutting out penalties and turnovers first. I'd rather not have Minihan randomly snapping the ball.

If the DL are jumping because of the cadence, then everyone is already prepared to play the snap.
