I disagree. An athlete should be able to make a play. If you can’t get your assignment and also be an athlete then we need better players. I guarantee you that if our OLinemen did that then the coaches would have clapped. Do you think Gibbs needs to be told how to play his position at this point in his life? Athletes make plays. I seriously doubt Key has instructed them not to react.

Key should have instructed them to do it after the first time it happened once the series ended. Certainly at half time.

Jesus F Christ already with the neutral zone bullshit. It is a weird damn thing to be obsessing over when we have much worse problems than maybe getting a 5 yard penalty every once in a while

We are making too much over the offense snapping the ball or O-line jumping when defense moves into the neutral zone. First, let’s correct the notion that this is taught in high school. It is not. Defensive presence in the neutral zone is automatically whistled and penalized in high school. You cannot line up or go into the neutral zone without committing an infraction.

Second, some bad things can happen when you react to defensive encroachment. If the ref does not see it quick snaps lead to lost yardage or even turnovers. Movement by an O-lineman in response to encroachment is fine as long as referees agree with you that this was initiated by a defender. Some teach to react to encroachment with snaps and grabbing or movement. Some teach going on with the play and like nothing more than a free play if the defenders don’t get back onside in time.

We have much bigger problems to fix.

Perhaps they should never try to kick the ball….The kicking struggles are truly baffling at this point. (Coach Collins said it would be fixed...I guess he is to busy with the juice crew to fix it) Overall, this loss to Cuse is right up there with the losses to The Citadel, VT and Temple last season as the worse of the Geoff Collins era. I do not believe the players were ready, period. Body language, way they walked, held their head, facial expressions, etc..... So far his recruiting is awesome but his coaching is leaving a lot to be desired. It is what it is....
