My post game thoughts....

It was probably THE worst traffic I have ever encountered to and from the game from 75N. From below Cartersville/Emerson down was ööööed. Just horrible.

I do like the new student center and glass enclosure where the Ramblin' Wreck is going to be housed is looking awesome for those who haven't seen it. Basically it will be like a model display case right next to the student center on Ferst. Looks almost complete.

For whatever reason, there were a lot of towels getting dropped on the field early in the game. Players throwing them out of the way, handing them to each other, picking them up, etc. He probably lost his towel and just grabbed another one off the field at some point.

And why doesn't the wreck make a full circuit of the field pregame anymore?
 
There were a ton of positives from yesterday, but the negatives definitely have me worried:

- Play-calling and Time Management: It was solid for the most part, but what the hell was Long/Key thinking with the last series before the half. We got bailed out by that targeting call and still couldn’t get any points. If the targeting doesn’t get called, we give the ball back to them with about 2:30 left on the clock and 3 timeouts. After the targeting was frustrating as well, how do we not run the ball at all when we have 2nd and 2? The end of the game was easier to understand but just as frustrating. If the goal was to run out the clock, why did we keep snapping the ball with significant time left on the play clock. That leftover time screwed us later on. We also played way too conservative on that last couple of series.

- Punting: Whatever we’re doing is better than before and yeah there were some bad no calls out there, but we still need a lot of work. Bad lane discipline and just a lack of killer instinct on the last couple of punts nearly cost us the game.

I don’t know if it was due to Long, Key, or Sims making changes at the line, but if we want to get to a bowl, this stuff needs to be fixed. We’re so close to being a bowl quality team, and I’d hate to see us screw it up with bad situational awareness and playcalling.

Trying to run the ball when the opponent knows you're going to with 3 OL out wasn't very successful. It seems we've found a combo of 5 guys on OL that works, but shuffling any of them and the wheels fall off.

Key specifically addressed this in his post game presser. Basically said they have had limited time and rthey focused specifically on fixing the punt protection and time-to-punt. Said they knew they had issues with coverage and the next step is to go address that.

good for the students - I told a group of them at a frat house walking out of the Ole MIiss game at half time that "I felt sorry for them and they deserved better". AND THEY DO - FGC

It was late in the game also. They got him fired. The fire GC chants was loud. Time to move on. I hope it stops because it will be very stupid if they continue to do it.

He got himself fired. This was the first home game since that happened. I didn't notice it this week until after the game. It was awesome, they deserve to be able to yell it all they want.

The student section was very loudly chanting Fired GC during the Ole Miss game. At least 3 or 4 times. I was TIC saying they got him fired. They got what they wanted.
