I mean, it's not a binary thing. The better your DBs are, the more time your DL has to get to the QB, or the more comfortable you can be leaving them in 1 on 1 coverage so you can send a blitz more often.

Ideally, yes, we would probably all like to see extra pressure from the big boys up front. Having better corners and safeties will only help.

Chicken versus Egg... Good coverage makes your pass rushers better. It also opens the door for more elaborate blitz packages if your guys can't get there on talent alone. Our pass rush will be better this year anyway by virtue of competing against a more conventional offense in practice, IMHO.

It would take a whole hell of a lot to convince me that he and that other DE from Florida didn’t get purchased that cycle. Two elite DLs have parents refuse to let their kids sign with in-state schools in favor of ND within a week of each other.
