Prayers for the Harvin family

Why did they boo him? Didn't see the game but from the box score, the punting seemed ok.

Because he may be the worst punter in the NFL this year. He is lucky to still be employed.

Regardless of what a person does for a living or how good they are doing their job, we all need to be praying for each other and each other's families and everybody else.

Sports is the toy department of life. It's something we use to take our minds off real life. But, unfortunately, sometimes we get so involved with it that we forget how unimportant it really is.

It's sure not important enough to hurt somebody's feelings over. But, I do that all the time, myself. We're Georgia Tech fans. Maybe the best thing we can do for Georgia Tech is to treat people right.

That way, no matter what happens, they will say something like, "Those people at Georgia Tech, they treat you right." And that would be a big win for Georgia Tech.

I’m rooting for him, but he has to perform. Objectively he has been very bad. That is why, understandably, he is being booed.

I haven't watched them this year, but I always check his stats and usually see one long one but an average <40. Has it basically been either a bomb or a shank for him this year? He is 6th in the league as far as inside the 20 goes, so that's not bad, but his overall average is 26th.

I haven't watched too many Steelers games but he's leading the AFC in pro bowl votes for punters. Is that just because they have the most fans?

Lots of shanks. I bet he leads the league in punts under 35 yds. Steelers have punted a lot. I bet if you normalize for the volume of punts, that Inside the 20 stat drops like a rock. It has been very bad.

So what's the big ööööing deal? This is the NFL, for Christ's sake ... you underperform, sometimes you get booed :dunno: ? There's no ööööing safe space in The League.

Prayers? Are you ööööing kidding me? After reading the subject line, I thought a member of his family had died or something.

Um. His dad is dying, it sounds like. Obviously, I doubt that fans were aware of that, and yes, one would expect to be booed when they are not doing well. But the prayers are for his dad, not the booing.

I never would have gone off like that had I been aware of the situation - fwiw, my humblest apologies  . As for the Steelers fans, I seriously doubt they would have booed had they known of his dad's condition.
