I haven't had a chance to come to campus since late last season. Is there still construction around 17th, 14th, and 10th like there was last year?

What's the best way to get onto campus from 75/85 South?

I always prefer going down Howell Mill/Marietta St and coming in the back way when coming to campus. You just avoid the 75/85 merge and all that goes with that. With the time tomorrow its going to be a madhouse around here. Thankfully I will already be nestled on campus.

For tailgating purposes, will I really not be able to park until 5? Doesn't that kind of make tailgating impossible for this game? Or will I probably be able to get in to my spot even though it's not officially open?

I have in the past attempted Thursday night tailgating, only to come the the conclusion that it's a lost cause. A stop by the Varsity walking to BDS is the way I go now on Thursdays.

I should be getting to Atlanta around 430 coming down 75 north (Huntsville, AL). What will be my best bet?

DEFINITELY Howell Mill/Northside Drive (same exit, go with Howell Mill) and take a left either on 10th avenue or North avenue depending on where you want to try to park.

Theres a church on 10th Avenue (I think 10th Avenue Methodist) its on the left a few blocks before Fowler Ave entrance to GT once you turn onto 10th from Howell Mill. They charge I think $10 for parking, and its definitely walking distance to Tech.

If you're coming down 85 South, the 17th/14th/10th exit is now completely reopened, with a new ramp direct to 10th St.

If you're coming down 75 South, take Howell Mill or Northside Dr and head south to campus - you'll hit a wall of traffic on the connector before the North Ave exit if you stay on the interstate.

If you park on the north or west side of campus, these are the ways to go - if you park on east campus, you may as well take the North Ave exit IMO.

Can somebody just answer his question?

My crew will be in town by lunchtime. We park in the Varsity Lot, and are chalking up the 5:00 thing to a "recommendation". If we get kicked out of the lot until 5:00, we will simply go on a mobile tailgate. What a bunch of junk.

Used to be $5

10th, 14th, and 17th bridges and exits are all open now. Construction is still going on everywhere right there, what lanes exactly close or open, I have no idea. I will be dropping off tailgate stuff around 1:00 in the central parking area. Then just park off campus and walk to the tailgate spot. I have friends who'll be coming after 5:00 to load my crap back into at the spot. Thursdays are their own creature, just have to deal with it. Marta's not bad for these games just fill up thirst buster with beer and load up a speckle-back. Stand on a corner, then trash that bitch before walking in. They're like $3 ($5 with ice).

Thanks for all of the info.

Are any of the Northeast line MARTA stations better than others, or are there any that my 4-year-old and I might want to avoid? The Northeast stations are Doraville, Chamblee, Brookhaven, Lenox.

I'm still considering fighting traffic to get to North Ave. and the Varsity lot. We'll see...

Pretty much all stations on the Northside are safe as far as I know. I would just hit the Chamblee station, and park on the P'tree / "downtown" Chamblee side. (the side closest to P'tree Industrial) Lots of newer development and townhomes/condos in the area along with the Chamblee police station only a couple of blocks away.

Last year for the two Thursday nights we got to Howie around 2 with no permit parked for free and had no problems. I think the 5'oclock is just a guideline. Get there early and park for free.
