Please, for the sake of the children, do.This is the happiest I’ve been about GT since 2014. I don’t even want to get started on how awful I thought BP was.

I think you're wading in to the" couldn't care less" vs. "could care less" conundrum that has seized social media posters all over this country. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
Mark Price? We need a Tech guy if it's possible. Is it possible?
Last time I saw the President he took my dirty dinner plate, and my wife's, because he saw we weren't sure where to put them. I'm not sure what he did with them. While I like Bud personally, and adore his wife he lost my confidence when he allowed the BOR to give UGA engineering without anything in return. Especially when the reason given was that we weren't creating enough engineers to meet the State's needs. While I like the concept of being the answer to the question how will the 21st century be that he laid out as his vision of his 25 year plan, his lack of a concrete plan to reach that also eroded my confidence.
Hopefully we can hire someone who understands and can articulate a path to make us excellent in both sports and academics.
so he is qualified to do something... which is bus tables.Last time I saw the President he took my dirty dinner plate, and my wife's, because he saw we weren't sure where to put them. I'm not sure what he did with them.
I've met Bud several times and always had a great impression of him personally. The MBob issues, the 2009 ACC CG title issues and then the funding/audit problems tho... I curtailed my donations solely based on the audit issues. If my money isn't important to them, I can put it to better use at home or at bringing cheap liquor to the tailgate... or paying your mom to leave.so he is qualified to do something... which is bus tables.
I met Bud in Charlotte at the 2014 ACCCG. He stopped in the bar where we were drinking and met the Tech fans there. Actually surprised/impressed he showed up.
Oh now that's what you want. An emotional president who tweets angry things at dwags and wants to build a wall between Atlanta and Athens.
You got that right. Petit knew who buttered his bread - told me as much himself. He loved the GTAA.
Don't all jobs have to be posted? We should all apply and say we will work as a team
Gawd....the world we live in. A sense of humor is definitely lacking. We would be fired in the first week when our consensus interview questions for new faculty require them to submit pictures of their mother and asks about her dating habits and likes/dislikes.
MIT requires all its students to participate in sports. If you are expecting the new president to prioritize the athletic department then I think you have your priorities out of whack. While I'd love to have a great athletic program, the reputation of the football team is not what helped me (or probably any of you) get a job and succeed at life. Those MIT grads sure seem to do OK without a great athletic program.
Never interacted with a sitting GT pres...but I did help carry the goalpost down to Clough's lawn when we beat Auburn
I saw the University of Tennessee's bass fishing team in a Chick Fil A parking lot once. That is a sportMIT requires all its students to participate in sports.
You can have a very good football program and still graduate students that use their degrees to make millions of dollars. Georgia Tech doesn't have a lock on all the great jobs in America or prestige. The former chairman of Augusta National made a good living and did ok with his degree. And his football team doesn't usually suck.If you are expecting the new president to prioritize the athletic department then I think you have your priorities out of whack.
