Pretend you are UCF...

Nah what you do is you have 8 18-team regions. Split into 2 groups of 9 for high level and low level. 8 conference games 1 cross-level game (can be reserved for rivalries) 2 inter region games and 1 slip game. You have promotion and relegation between these leagues (bottom/top 3). The winners (both high and low level) play each other in an 8-team playoff, seeding based off last season’s results in playoff.

Regions: SW, NW, CA, MIDWEST, NE, MID-Atlantic, Southeast, Plains
 
This year’s Tech team - which is not a good team - would be 9-3 with UCF’s schedule.
 
Count me in for a 16 team playoff - all 10 conference champs automatically in + 6 at larges based on whatever BS selection criteria they want to put together, no special treatment for ND. Seed them based on AP or Coaches Poll. First two rounds are home games for highest seed, last two rounds are neutral sight games (as they are now). You can start it early December and be done the first week of January.

It's why the bowl argument for present vs past coaches is stupid. It used to be difficult to get an invite - ANY invite. The 1989 Jackets went 7-4 and got snubbed before going out and winning the natty the next season. The 2010 Jackets lost 4 of our last 5 before staggering to Shreveport in December and another loss to USAF.

Not making a bowl in this day and age should be cause for job termination.

Especially with Alcorn, Bowling Green, North Carolina and Louisville on the schedule. In my opinion it was hard work to lose five games this year.
 
We are not in a great position to talk about UCF. They beat Pitt, a team that beat us in Atlanta. If we had beaten Pitt, we'd be in a much better bowl. Heck, if we were in the AAC and had won 25 in a row, we'd be in a New Year's Six Bowl. Just imagine where we'd be if we'd beaten South Florida, Pitt and Duke, which doesn't seem too unrealistic? I don't think a school that loses to South Florida, Pitt and Duke has much of an argument to complain about anything.

Yes they did. Auburn had beaten ugag and bama and then lost to ugag in the rematch/SECCG. Their difference maker, Carryon Johnson, got hurt in the rematch with ugag and wasn't nearly the same in UCF's Superbowl vs. a very deflated Auburn.

Not exactly, Kerryon Johnson got hurt in the Iron Bowl and played hurt in the SEC Championship game rematch with UGA one week later. Kerryon had a month to get well before the game with UCF (but he may not have been 100%).

Now deeming himself healthy, Johnson is looking for a big performance against UCF.

Sounds like UCF’s best win was over the same team that UGA’s best win was and they didn’t lose a game.

UGA’s overall schedule was clearly stronger, but UCF beat everyone ahead of them including the best team UGA who made it to the playoffs last year with losses beat.

Sounds like UCF has legitimate reasons to gripe.

They’re not griping - they just want a chance to prove it on the field. Their National Championship claim is tongue in cheek just to stick it to the man “NCAA”. I think what they’re doing is awesome and totally refreshing to watch.
