Pump the brakes

At some point coaches have to find ways to win games. That is the bottomline. That is the issue with theses type of games. Many teams struggle with inferior teams but tend to pull it out when the game is on the line. It is typically a focus on the little things that pay off in those situations.

Outside of that, my biggest concern after last night is the D-front. The improvement is marginal with inconsistent play from the LBs but very weak effort across the entire DL.

Not as sure about the OL. They didn’t dominate but that could have been that NI decided to focus on stopping the run and figured we could not hurt them over the top.
 
At least CGC has some awesome DT help on the way. Now we just need a better GCG combo.

The way he interacts with the Line Judge after he calls the first time out around the 9 minute mark in the third tells u all u need to know about this coach. Yet again they couldn't get an important play call in on time. He acts all goofy and it looks like he actually apologizes to the ref. Doesn't look like he cares the team has played like öööö....looks like he is having fun though.

He gets paid whether we win or lose for four more years after this season. Why worry?

The season is over. Jury is out on coach being terrible, he can recruit but he has done nothing EVER to acquit himself well on GameDay. The season won't be redeemed.

Handwaving freakoutery on a message board is reactionary, self-effacing, and counterproductive. At best, it is lame, and at worse, it influences others to become defeatist and negative.

I don't know where you are getting the confidence that the coaches will resolve the issues. The only issues they seem to have resolved is silly mistakes on the line, turnovers, and penalties. That goal-line offense in the 3rd quarter was a play-for-play exact duplicate of P'nut's goal line offense about 5 or 6 times last year. Wasted 1st and 2nd down plays, let the clock run down on 3rd down so you have to call an otherwise unnecessary timeout, come out of the time out and run a garbage play, and then have to kick or go for it on on 4th. EXACT DUPLICATE of last year

Before the season started I predicted 4 wins (and got lambasted of course.) I was counting NIU and KSU as wins. Luckily the ACC is hot garbage so maybe Tech can find a win to replace the NIU loss and still get to 4 wins.
