I think our OL will do fine, but it is gonna be a little thin, so if anyone gets injured we could be at risk.

I haven't seen him play, but I would think that if the OL is having trouble opening holes and holding blocks that this would definitely require a mobile QB and favor Bilbo. Short routes and quick drops would be needed too.

Anybody have any thoughts along these lines.

I think you are absolutely correct, mate. Remember that Joe didn't play behind All-American or even All-ACC lines while he was at Tech. They weren't chopped liver by any means, but we don't have a bunch of guys in the NFL from those OL's right now either. A mobile QB that can dust that initial DL or two that gets through protection can be quite the equalizer. Suggs and Bilbo are each 220# - Suggs might be bigger than that. Neither will come near Joe's quickness or "juke"ability. But I think if we need that extra yard on a scramble for first down, I wouldn't want to be a corner trying to take AJ or Demarius down head-to-head.

Bilbo is without question much quicker than Suggs, but AJ is not exactly George Godsey out there.

He knows when to make one or two keys guys miss, step up and throw under pressure. By all means, Bilbo is the QB of the future, and even part-time this year, but I don't think OL play would dictate that he become the only QB used.

On the other hand, the possible (probable) QB rotation between the two will help the OL out also. DLs will attack differently, depending on which QB is in there. I would actually expect the OL to have a little easier of a time when Bilbo is in the game, not because they don't need less time, but because the DL will be a little more conservative, to stay in position for a Bilbo run (and perhaps a Bilbo shoulder into the CB at the sideline).

I, for one, am very interested and excited to see Coach Chan use the two together. I don't expect that defenses will be all that different against each, but it will be fun to have a little variety.

Bilbo runs like a dear!!!! That guy has some serious wheels. Joe had that ability to make people miss with major quickness and athletism. Bilbo is much bigger, stronger, and faster. They are just different.

Watching AJ is spring was suprised at how well the guy moved. Hard to tell watching spring practices and such, but they both seem tough. That's something a qb has to be. Joe and Godsey both were like that. Taking a serious hit then getting back up and leading in the huddle is important.

Never know till getting on the real field of battle, but I like our QBs!! It's going to be war!!!!!
