QB released from the team

Guys,
I don't post often but read every day.
I do know that there was a QB released yesterday. Speculation is easy from the blogs, but he is gone. Thus the reason for KM getting more snaps with the 1's. I realise we walk a fine line when we report before the school does.
 
Why would you go and do that? Now I gotta hit refresh every five minutes until the news is released.

You can find a likely candidate - if you search through some recent AJC practice blogs.
 
Oh for christ's sake, don't make me fish through the blogs. Who (probably) got released?
 
Still being determined but more then likely could come out soon...
 
Well, it sounds like its Byron Ingram. I've heard rumors of this for awhile now.
 
Not to knock him or anything, but it's not like he was a projected starter, so why would we go after another one?
 
I would think they would. Not just because Ingram will be gone, but also because Manley and Threet are both gone as well. Bennett and Booker will be gone after 2008 leaving only Nesbitt and Renfree plus whoever is recruited next year. It all depends on how many QB's the coaches want on their depth chart at one time. I would think four eligible (meaning no one who is taking a redshirt at the time).

I doubt we go after another because we will get Drew Little to commit to us...probably not to long after we can offer Sept. 1. I could be wrong though.

Doubt it. This was no surprise to the staff. They will have set recruiting targets based on the feeling that Byron might have to pursue other options.

I think the kid had tremendous potential. The thing that most kept him from getting practice snaps is he has stayed in academic hot water.

I see a Darius and a Tyler Little but no Drew. Darius has no information on him at all.

What's the story on 3-star QB Tyler Bass. He's got us listed but no offer. Grades? Or are we simply not interested?
 
Little is pretty much a lock, hes at GT all the time with Chris...might look at 2 for 09 class
 
I think it depends on who they think they could get from this year's class. After next season, we'll be losing Taylor, Booker, and Manley, which would only leave us with Nesbitt, Renfree, and whoever we get from the 2009 class (likely will get Drew Little).

If they can't find another quality prospect from this recruiting class to go along with Renfree, then they'll probably go after at least two in '09.
