Question about injured players coming out of the game

Say a player gets "injured" and the trainers come out. He has to come out of the game for the next play. What if the QB calls a time out from under center?

Can he play after that?

Yes. If the team calls a timeout they can put the injured player back in the next play. The QB under center has nothing to do with it.
