I mean, we didn't look too damn hot last year, either. This is college football. Teams change yearly (except the top dogs). I don't really care what they did last year.

Plenty of teams look like öööö in their first game. We played like öööö. We were never going to do very well this year. I still think we are playing with house money and we can only go up from here! (Get back to me after the next game, though).

I was wanting Monken early on as well, but it was clear the powers that be wanted a change away from the option based offense.

When Geoff was hired, I admit I got high on the hype and the hashtags. It seems clear now that he’s in over his head.

The Griz is pretty good though, they have one of those mad scientist coaches. Very fun to watch, I'll have to go catch that replay.

You're right that teams change year to year. Apparently we don't though.

I wasn't even expecting to go bowling (which is kind of sad in itself), but I did expect competency in year 3 (!) but basic execution and coaching appear elusive.
 
Yates definitely showed more than Sims, but I feel like that only begs more questions of the staff. Why did Sims look so bad? Are they capable of developing a quarterback? Offensively, we're a team that does not look like it really knows what it wants to do. I feel like that's a bit of a problem by year 3.

And that leads to, how much more of this can we take before we get permanently screwed. These top 25 recruiting classes won’t mean jack if we screw them up.

I guess after being a fan for 35 years and getting kicked in the nuts constantly, I guess I am like those Buddhist Monks that do all those tricks bashing their nuts. It is what it is.

Or maybe I'm just burned out. I hate losing so damn much, but there isn't a damn thing I can do about it.

I always joke when I watch those old 1970's kung fu movies and those guys are just like stabbing themselves in the face with spears repeatedly and smashing their nuts with logs to prove their Qi Gong skill that it would be hilarious to superimpose the GT logo on their chests. That may be my season GIF project.

Compare CGC to a car salesman. He needs coordinators. Get them first before you sell you inventory. Let him get the inventory (players).
 
When the Athletic ranks all teams from 1 to 130 or whatever and we get ranked in the 90's, I said man we're gonna make everyone look stupid!
