Non-GT friend just sent me this and I about spilled my whiskey clear. How have I never seen it??

 
Yeah, can honestly say I saw this many years ago. In the days when, before a movie would start in the theatre, they would run newsreels, human interest films, and snippets like this. Those newsreels were often the first visual report we had on a "breaking" story.
 
Some of y'all probably didn't listen to this either so I'm gonna leave this here:
 
I have an old vinyl of the song somewhere around here. From the 20's or 30's, I suppose. I guess I need to get to finding it.

Growing up in Texas, one set of neighbors was from one of the MS schools, . He played football, she was a cheerleader. The glee club was on Mitch Miller one night and she commented on the 'heck' version,said it wasn't sung that way at games. Evidently had to change due to tv standards/censorship of the times.
